<p>Extended School Year (ESY) Preschool Instructional Assistant (Summer 2026)</p> <p>Position: ESY Comprehensive Instructional Assistants</p> <p>Position Type: Part-time, Hourly</p> <p>Department: Extended School Year - Summer 2026</p> <p>Location: Hosmer Elementary School</p> <p>Reports to: ESY Coordinators</p> <p>Dates: Preparation Day: July 6th, 2026</p> <p>July 7-August 6, 2026</p> <p>Times: 8:30 - 12:30 Monday-Thursday</p> <p>Salary range: $25</p> <p>Preschool:</p> <ul> <li>Bridge (Sub-Separate) Instructional Assistant - 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM, Monday - Thursday </li><li>Dates: July 7, 2026 - August 6, 2026 (Monday - Thursday) </li><li>Preparation Day: Monday, July 6, 2026 </li><li>Integrated Classroom Instructional Assistant - Preschool - 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM, Monday - Thursday </li><li>Dates: July 7, 2026 - July 30, 2026 (Monday - Thursday) </li><li>Preparation Day: Monday, July 6, 2026 </li></ul> <p>These are integrated preschool classrooms. All preschool students are scheduled 9:00-12:00. Integrated students attend 2/4 days and sub-sep students attend 4/4 days.</p> <p>General Description:</p> <p>The Comprehensive Extended School Year (ESY) offers specialized instruction and related services to students beyond the regular school year. Watertown Public Schools seeks an outstanding Instructional Assistant to support students with disabilities in accessing their education for the Extended School Year Summer Program. In your letter of interest, please indicate which level/program you prefer. We have availability in the Bridge and Inclusion.</p> <p>These are integrated preschool classrooms. All preschool students are scheduled 9:00-12:00. Integrated students attend 2/4 days and sub-sep students attend 4/4 days.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Teach groupings of special education students in preschool </li><li>Conduct whole group and/or small group literacy lessons </li><li>Conduct whole groups and/or small group Math lessons </li><li>Follow related IEP Goals and Accommodations </li><li>Teach age-related social skills and functional behavior </li><li>Teaching is focused on the prevention of skill regression </li><li>Progress monitoring and reporting </li></ul> <p>Qualifications Required:</p> <ul> <li>Flexibility with respect to age groups, assignments </li><li>Ability to follow through with directions </li><li>Experience working with students at the elementary level who have significant learning and social/emotional needs </li><li>Experience implementing Behavior Intervention Plans and an understanding of functions of behaviors </li><li>Ability to take initiative to complete tasks and to assist students with de-escalation techniques and executive functioning skills </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively as a part of a team </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>CPR/First Aid Certification </li></ul> <p>Please submit your resume and letter of interest by April 1st , 2026 for priority consideration.</p> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <ul> <li>Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. </li></ul> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer</p> <p>Watertown Public Schools is committed to maintaining a work and learning environment free from discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, pregnancy, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital/civil union status, ancestry, place of birth, age, citizenship status, veteran status, political affiliation, genetic information or disability, as defined and required by state and federal laws.
