We're always improving on the tools and technology that empower content developers worldwide.</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <p>Fortnite's Player Expression team is focused on giving players and creators an expansive range of tools to express identity, creativity, and style. From character customization to creator-built experiences, we power the systems that let players show who they are and bring their ideas to life. As a Gameplay Systems Engineer on this team, you'll design and implement core systems that support cosmetics, characters, cars, and other forms of expression within Fortnite and the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN). You'll contribute to player-facing features and creator workflows, working across the Fortnite ecosystem to enable the next generation of amazing games. This is a highly collaborative and forward-thinking role where your work will directly impact millions of players and creators.</p> <p>In this role, you will</p> <ul> <li>Implement, augment, and maintain gameplay features and systems that underpin cosmetics, characters and player expression </li><li>Be a team player, building relationships with adjacent teams across gameplay, art, animation, performance, and tooling </li><li>Design robust, extensible, scalable and memory-efficient systems that perform well across multiple platforms </li><li>Build systems that are intuitive for non-technical creators new to game development, while remaining powerful for experienced developers </li><li>Advocate for the player experience, preserving and enhancing the library of cosmetics players have acquired </li><li>Collaborate and innovate on big projects to drive the future of the Fortnite ecosystem </li><li>Support the ongoing development of a live service game with high-quality code and adaptability </li></ul> <p>What we're looking for</p> <ul> <li>Strong C++ skills and software engineering principles </li><li>Strong problem-solving skills, both individually and through collaboration with team members </li><li>A passion for games with a willingness to focus on visual but gameplay-adjacent areas </li><li>Experience developing robust, extensive gameplay systems, preferably in AAA or live service games </li><li>Self-motivated, strong work ethic, and able to work independently </li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate fluently in English (written and verbal) </li><li>User-focused, passionate, solutions-focused, and innovative mindset </li><li>Unreal Engine development experience is preferred but not required </li></ul> <p>EPIC JOB + EPIC BENEFITS = EPIC LIFE</p> <p>Our intent is to cover all things that are medically necessary and improve the quality of life.
