We strongly encourage members of underrepresented communities to apply to join our community.</p> <p>Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The ideal candidate will join a vibrant and inclusive educational community, and have a desire and ability to work with a diverse population. The Auxiliary Services Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the college bookstore and auxiliary services operations on campus, ensuring efficient operations, financial performance, and high-quality service delivery to students, faculty, staff, and the broader college community. This role involves strategic planning, day-to-day management, and oversight of contracted services or college-run operations to enhance the student experience and contribute to the college's revenue streams. As the primary point of contact for students, faculty, and staff, this position supports order fulfillment, resolves issues related to virtual ordering, and ensures compliance with academic deadlines and textbook adoption requirements.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities and Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Manage daily operations of auxiliary services, including online bookstore, gear shop, and other auxiliary services as assigned; </li><li>Coordinate on-site support services related to bookstore and gear functions, including supply distribution and physical pick-up/drop-off; </li><li>Create and lead institutional policy on required adoption timelines, cost transparency, and early pricing, aligned with HEOA (Higher Education Opportunity Act and other applicable guidelines; </li><li>Establish vendor service level standards, issue resolution protocols, and order fulfillment benchmarks; </li><li>Determine policy for escalation of student complaints related to course materials access; </li><li>In partnership with the MassBay Office of Accessibility Resources, develop institutional Inclusive Access policy or policies; </li><li>Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction across all auxiliary services, offer individualized assistance to students, support faculty with textbook adoption processes, deadlines, and platform navigation; </li><li>Assist with the administration of textbook-related financial aid programs, including grants, scholarships, and emergency support; </li><li>Oversee external vendors providing auxiliary services, ensuring contract compliance and performance standards; </li><li>Research and collaborate on contracts and service agreements with the Procurement Department; </li><li>Ensure compliance with MassBay policies, relevant regulations, and best practices; </li><li>Assess the needs of the College community and develop strategies to enhance existing auxiliary services or introduce new services, implement sustainability practices in alignment with the College's environmental goals; </li><li>Prepare reports on to inform planning and support; </li><li>Collaborate with the MassBay Marketing & Communications Department to create and distribute guides, FAQs, and other materials and resources to promote awareness and effective use of auxiliary services; </li><li>Work closely with College departments such as Procurement and Business Operations, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Business Office, Marketing & Communications and Student Development to ensure a smooth operation and excellent customer services and seamless service delivery; </li><li>Participate in professional development activities; </li><li>Recruit, train, and supervise staff, including potential contracted/part time staff, involved in auxiliary services operations; </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Commitment to Equity:</p> <ul> <li>Support MassBay's commitment to the Equity Agenda; collaborating with faculty, staff, and students on the College's strategic initiatives dedicated to closing the equity gap related to student outcomes; </li><li>Support MassBay's commitment to being anti-racist; embracing a community free of bias and inequality; </li><li>Contribute to discussion and review of applicable College policies with a critical lens toward diversity, equity, and inclusion; </li><li>Engage with the Office of Diversity on issues related to underserved student success; </li><li>Further the examination of pertinent practices that are culturally responsive and reflective of inclusive perspectives; and </li><li>Engage in conversations with colleagues and students regarding best practices within auxiliary service related to equity and inclusion. </li></ul> <p>This list is not to be considered all-inclusive.
