<p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Provide Primary Care to Patients of all ages. </li><li>Perform Physical Examinations for New and Or Established Patients. </li><li>Utilize authorized Medical Equipment for high quality care following required training. </li><li>Ordering, prescribing, and administering Diagnostic Tests as required. </li><li>Communicating Test Results to patients and their families. </li><li>Comprehensive knowledge of primary care in outpatient settings. </li><li>Serve as a leader on the Medical Care Team. </li><li>Collaborate with referring providers as required. </li><li>Utilize data to drive high quality results using evidence-based cost effective approached. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION/EDUCATION: Master's degree Required. Doctoral Degree optional.</p> <p>CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATION: Certified as Nurse Practitioner, Active and Unencumbered Louisiana Nursing License, Prescriptive Authority issued by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing, and Peer References. Must agree to Credential and Privileging Requirements.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE:</p> <ul> <li>Comprehensive knowledge of primary care in outpatient settings. </li><li>Knowledge of the principles and practices of modern d as related to public health organizations and community health programs, as well as current social and economic problems pertaining to public health and their impact on primary health care. </li><li>Knowledge of the policies and procedures of a clinic sufficient to direct its operations and to provide effective patient care. </li><li>Knowledge of the principles and practices of employee development sufficient to ensure organizational productivity. </li><li>Must be cognizant of the prevalent stressors and their impact on both the professional provider and the patient populations in the clinic setting. </li><li>Knowledge of computer programs and applications. </li></ul> <p>SKILLS:</p> <ul> <li>Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision-making to achieve clinic's mission. </li><li>Skill in analyzing situations accurately and taking effective action. </li><li>Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, policy-making bodies, third-party payers, patients and the public. </li><li>Skill in organizing work, delegating and achieving goals and objectives. </li></ul>
