We seek applicants who have a strong record of securing external funding, thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail, with excellent writing and project management skills, and are able to effectively collaborate with offices from across the university as well as the community at large to successfully secure external funding. Currently, funding priorities include supporting the Workforce and Innovation Hub, the Central Community Health Education Clinic, and opportunities to increase workforce readiness.</p> <p>Central Connecticut State University is the first publicly funded university in the state. As we recently celebrated 175 years of academic excellence and innovation, please visit CCSU to learn more.</p> <p>About CCSU's Office of Institutional Research and Assessment</p> <p>Foundationally, the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment collaborates with offices from all divisions within the university to improve institutional effectiveness and to secure funding for priority projects. The Office also contributes significantly to institutional accreditation (New England Commission on Higher Education, NECHE), strategic planning, assessment of student learning, as well as standard state and federal reporting.</p> <p>Position Profile</p> <p>Responsible for administrative work involving needs analysis, grant research, development, and coordination in preparing grant applications for the University. This includes but is not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Meeting with funding agencies, as necessary, to identify and secure grant opportunities </li><li>Coordinating with faculty, staff, and subject matter experts to identify grant opportunities to support institution-wide priorities </li><li>Writes/submits grant applications and reports </li><li>Aiding in the development of grant budgets and ensures that grants are complementary to one another so an efficient grant network is created </li><li>Developing strategies for revision and re-submission of failed applications/proposals to other grant-giving agencies. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <p>Demonstrated ability to effectively work with a culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students; strong information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.); demonstrated ability to work under pressure and within difficult time constraints; demonstrated ability to prioritize workflow, adjust to changes in work assignments and work with others to complete required projects; demonstrated ability to apply resilience, flexibility, and creativity in approaching complex problems; demonstrated writing and editing skills; demonstrated ability to communicate utilizing clear, concise, and compelling language; demonstrated track record of success in obtaining grants; demonstrated superior written and oral communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to relate and work collegially, constructively, and effectively with a variety of stakeholders, groups and individuals, as well as the ability to work independently.</p> <p>Applicant Evaluative Criteria</p> <p>Applicant profiles and supplementary materials will be evaluated for appointment based on the following:</p> <p>Education:</p> <p>All applicants must possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in English, Journalism, Communication, Creative Writing or similar area.</p> <p>Experience and Training:</p> <p>Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience in grant writing.</p> <p>To Apply</p> <p>To begin the application process, select the "Apply" button and electronically submit the following documents before August 11, 2025.</p> <ul> <li>Letter of interest addressing the qualifications for this position. </li><li>Current Résumé </li><li>Names of three current professional references with title, email addresses and telephone numbers. </li></ul> <p>Incomplete applications will not be considered.
