We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds and experiences and are committed to building a diverse and inclusive community.</p> <p>Position Title HRIS Analyst Position Number 898735 Position Category Administration School/Division Human Resources (division) Department Human Resources Full-Time or Part-Time Full-Time Description</p> <p>Reporting to the Senior Director of HR Systems and Operations, the HRIS Analyst will play a critical role in supporting our HRIS applications within the Office of Human Resources. The HRIS Analyst will have primary oversight of key HR systems, including time and attendance software (eTIME), paid time off software (Appogee), and the HR module of the ERP (Ellucian Banner). The HRIS Analyst will be responsible for providing functional and technical support for HRIS applications, ensuring data integrity, analyzing workflows, and identifying process improvement opportunities. Incumbent will work collaboratively with HR functional areas and various HR key contacts to research and resolve issues within the applications, provide ongoing application configuration and maintenance, and develop data queries and reports using Microsoft Access and analytical tools such as Tableau and PowerBI. This is an on-campus position.</p> <p>Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Manage the electronic time and attendance application for all non-exempt employees, including union staff and student employees; weekly review and reconciliation of timecards; daily reporting and provide primary support for migration to a new cloud-based time and attendance platform. </li><li>Audit, adjust and maintain Paid Time Off records across multiple employee groups. </li><li>Execute special mass processing such as union increases and other mass upload procedures. </li><li>Develop ad hoc reporting for the HR Team and other University constituents as needed. </li><li>Migrate current reporting from Microsoft Access to other tools. Design and maintain HR dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools like Power BI and Tableau. </li><li>Create both summary and detailed reports and dashboards for data such as HR regulatory compliance, demographic trends and turnover. </li><li>Analyze data and statistics for trends and patterns with attention to talent acquisition, employee engagement, turnover, student employment, and compliance with employment laws and regulations. Utilizes this data to make actionable recommendations. </li><li>Analyze HR workflows and processes to identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, and user experience enhancements. </li><li>Regularly perform data audits to ensure high standards of data accuracy and integrity. </li><li>Complete compensation and regulatory surveys (IPEDS, AAUP, Chronicle of Great Colleges, Common Data Set, NYSED). </li><li>Test and implement configuration changes, software updates, patches and upgrades, support 3rd party interfaces. </li><li>Explore continuous automation efforts and proactively identify and resolve issues associated with data. Documents process and results. </li><li>Ensures data and systems are secure. Documents HRIS processes/policies/workflow, provide systems training and customer service. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required. </li><li>1-3 years of prior work-related experience, specifically working with an HRIS and related areas such as payroll, job classification and compensation. </li><li>Prior experience writing advanced queries using functions, expressions, inner/outer joins and other advanced features. </li><li>Prior experience with analytical reporting tools such as Tableau and PowerBI. </li><li>Advanced Excel skills including experience with formulas, v-lookup, pivot tables, nested if statements, conditional data formatting, charts, graphs and other advanced features. </li><li>Demonstrated experience managing various conflicting deadlines in an environment that requires balancing the demands of multiple priorities. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated high level of analytical, conceptual thinking, and quantitative skills. </li><li>Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Access and Excel. </li><li>Experience working with large volumes of data. </li><li>Ability to visually summarize data for an executive audience. </li><li>Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS, payroll, and other employee management software. </li><li>Experience with Ellucian Banner is a plus. </li><li>Exhibit ability to communicate both orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner. </li><li>Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects. </li><li>Demonstrated high level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality. </li></ul> <p>Special Instructions Deadline Date Posted 08/18/2025 EEO Statement</p> <p>Hofstra University is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to extending equal opportunity in employment to all qualified individuals without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, national or ethnic origin, physical or mental disability, marital or veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.</p> <p>Salary/Salary Range $70,000-$80,000</p> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education.
