<p>Riverside County Information Technology (RCIT) Department</p> <p>The Riverside County Information Technology (RCIT) Department delivers essential IT services to County departments and agencies, playing a critical role in managing and securing the County's enterprise systems and mission-critical infrastructure.</p> <p>RCIT is currently seeking a motivated and tech-savvy student intern to join our CIM Field Support team!</p> <p>About the Role:</p> <p>As a member of the CIM Field Support team, you'll gain hands-on experience with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a wide range of systems, including:</p> <ul> <li> <p>County telephone and data networks</p> </li><li> <p>Backup power systems</p> </li><li> <p>Audio-visual and paging systems</p> </li></ul> <p>Approximately 95% of the work is performed in the field, providing support directly at customer locations throughout the County. This is an excellent opportunity to explore the inner workings of a large-scale enterprise IT environment and develop practical skills in a cross-functional setting.</p> <p>Our core technologies include the Cisco and Microsoft product suites, with access to a broad range of tools within those ecosystems.</p> <p>Internship Details:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Location: Based in Riverside, CA</p> </li><li> <p>Duration: 1-year internship</p> </li><li> <p>Schedule: 20-40 hours per week (flexible to accommodate academic schedules)</p> </li></ul> <p>What You'll Gain:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Real-world IT field support experience</p> </li><li> <p>Exposure to enterprise-level infrastructure and support systems</p> </li><li> <p>Mentorship from experienced professionals in a collaborative environment</p> </li></ul> <p>If you're looking to build your career in IT and want an immersive, field-based learning experience, we encourage you to apply!</p> <p>Under supervision, assists and participates in the work performed by employees of a specific profession; through participation, receives supervised work experience in a specific professional vocation; and performs other related duties as required.</p> <p>Some of the tasks include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Installing routers, switches, wireless access points (WAP), uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems </li><li>Providing field support working alongside of the NCC over the phone to troubleshoot routers, switches, Wi-Fi, network connectivity </li><li>Installing new VoIP phones </li><li>Troubleshooting VoIP phones, UPS power systems, faxes, analog phone lines </li><li>Patching network jacks </li><li>Cross-connecting data and voice analog and digital circuits </li><li>Preventive maintenance  </li></ul> <p>Minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average: 2.5 GPA required. Proof of most current unofficial/official transcript with cumulative GPA must be provided at time of application. </p> <p>Education: Applicants must be currently enrolled/attending school at an accredited college or university in a Bachelor's degree program, during the entire duration of the internship. Recent college graduates are eligible to intern for up to one year (twelve months) from their graduation date.
