<p>The Department of Biology in the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a Part-time Temporary Wastewater Surveillance Health Liaison.</p> <p>About the Opportunity</p> <p>This individual will serve as a liaison between the wastewater testing lab and state public health departments, including infection control divisions where appropriate.</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <ul> <li>Learn and maintain familiarity with the wastewater testing lab workflows, including attending regular group meetings and training sessions as required by the project PI. </li><li>Establish and maintain lines of communication between the testing lab and state public health officials, including attendance at relevant meetings, assisting in the development of project literature and material for dissemination, and communication of issues & concerns among the relevant parties. </li></ul> <p>Pay Grade: 15</p> <p>Length of Assignment: Approximately 2 Months</p> <p>Work Hours: 25 Hours per Week</p> <ul> <li>Requires education and training related to the position to which assigned, obtained through a formal training program of over eighteen (18) months and up to three (3) years beyond high school. </li></ul> <p>A minimum of two (2) years of work experience directly related to the area of assignment.</p> <ul> <li>Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered. </li><li>All qualifications must be met by the time of employment. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Ability to communicate effectively and responsibly. </li><li>Ability to analyze data, particularly wastewater trends, clinical epidemiological data, and syndromic surveillance. </li><li>Ability to use common software to develop presentation material for various audiences, from general public to clinicians. (Examples include Powerpoint, Word, Excel, or their alternatives.) </li><li>Ability to work independently and meet deadlines consistently. </li></ul>
