This role is responsible for creating high-quality content across print, digital, and social media platforms, as well as engaging directly with key stakeholders, including community members, healthcare providers, and university partners. Working collaboratively with the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (HCOM), the College of Health Sciences and Professions (CHSP), and other university units, the Coordinator supports efforts to connect broad audiences with university health programs. This role also tracks engagement efforts, assesses impact, and refines strategies to continuously improve the visibility and reach of community health resources.</p> <p>Position Responsibilities:</p> <p>Marketing and Communications Development</p> <ul> <li>Develop a marketing and outreach plan which utilizes print, digital, and social media platforms as well as in-person engagement to promote awareness of Ohio University's broad portfolio of Community Health Programs. </li><li>Design and distribute marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, newsletters, and infographics to effectively communicate available health programs and resources to students, faculty, staff, and community members. </li><li>Ensure brand consistency across all communication channels by following Ohio University's branding and messaging guidelines and working closely with university communications teams. </li><li>Collaborate with internal teams to produce press releases, success stories, website content, and promotional campaigns that highlight the impact of Ohio University's health services in the region. </li></ul> <p>Stakeholder Outreach & Engagement</p> <ul> <li>Conduct in-person outreach to engage with community members, healthcare providers, nonprofit organizations, and university stakeholders, ensuring awareness of and access to Ohio University's health services. </li><li>Represent Ohio University's Community Health Programs at community events, health fairs, university functions, and regional meetings to build relationships and foster connections that enhance service utilization. </li><li>Develop and strengthen partnerships with local health organizations, government agencies, and advocacy groups to increase visibility and engagement with underserved populations. </li><li>Gather feedback from stakeholders through conversations, surveys, and focus groups to assess community needs and inform future marketing and outreach strategies </li></ul> <p>Collaboration with University Colleges and Units</p> <ul> <li>Work closely with the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and the College of Health Sciences and Professions to align promotional efforts and ensure a unified approach to community health engagement. </li><li>Coordinate messaging and outreach strategies with university departments and health-focused student organizations. </li><li>Facilitate cross-college collaboration by identifying opportunities for joint initiatives, shared storytelling, and co-branded events that enhance community health awareness. </li><li>Support university-wide health initiatives by contributing expertise in marketing, outreach, and engagement to broader efforts aimed at improving public health access and equity. </li></ul> <p>Promotion of Community Health Services</p> <ul> <li>Identify key audiences, such as communities, university students, and healthcare professionals, to develop tailored marketing strategies that address their unique needs. </li><li>Highlight the impact of Ohio University's Community Health Programs by creating compelling narratives that showcase patient success stories, program achievements, and service accessibility. </li><li>Utilize digital analytics and engagement metrics to track the reach and effectiveness of marketing efforts, making data-driven recommendations for improvement. </li><li>Ensure promotional strategies align with community needs by staying informed on regional health trends, public health priorities, and social determinants of health affecting Southeast Ohio. </li></ul> <p>Reporting and Continuous Improvement</p> <ul> <li>Track and assess the effectiveness of marketing and outreach efforts through surveys, analytics, and stakeholder feedback, adjusting strategies as needed for maximum impact. </li><li>Prepare reports and presentations summarizing engagement efforts, key metrics, and success stories to demonstrate the value of Ohio University's community health initiatives. </li><li>Stay informed on best practices in health communications, social marketing, and community outreach to ensure Ohio University remains a leader in public health engagement. </li><li>Identify opportunities for growth and innovation by researching emerging trends in health marketing, outreach, and digital engagement to enhance visibility and impact. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree </li><li>3 years of relevant professional experience </li><li>Valid Ohio Driver's license </li><li>Ability to pass an FBI/BCI enhanced background check and the National Service Criminal History Check, in accordance with the organization's standards. </li></ul> <p>An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Health Communications, English, or a related field </li><li>Experience working with a healthcare or social service agency </li></ul> <p>Department HCOM - Community Health Programs Pay Rate</p> <p>The approved hiring range for this position is $43,888 to $51,377. Offers outside of this range of subject to additional approvals.
