<p>Vacancy Notice:</p> <p>Middle School Special Education Teacher</p> <p>Western Wayne School Corporation Superintendent, Kelly Plank, has announced a vacancy for the position of a Middle School Special Education Teacher. This is a full-time position for the 2025-2026 school year.</p> <p>Position Purpose</p> <p>Full-time teaching position providing special education support and instruction to students in grades 6-8</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Provides instruction and/or instructional support in accordance with students' IEPs </li><li>Assists students and teaching staff in implementing students' IEPs and behavior management plans </li><li>Coordinates and plans IEP meetings </li><li>Consults with general education teachers </li><li>Monitors progress toward IEP goals and objectives </li></ul> <p>Additional Duties</p> <p>Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent</p> <p>Skills, Knowledge, Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of Special Education principles, theories, testing, methods, etc. as well as proven methods of maximizing the educational experience of students with special needs </li><li>Knowledge of differentiated instruction based on student learning style </li><li>Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis, and the formulation of action plans </li><li>Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students </li><li>Ability to use computer network systems and software applications as needed </li><li>Ability to organize and coordinate work </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents </li><li>Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted during work </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <p>State Certification as a Special Education Teacher or desire to obtain special education licensure</p> <p>Salary: Western Wayne Schools will offer a competitive salary and benefit package that is commensurate with qualification and experience.
