Chester Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and skilled Special Education Teacher to join our team. This full-time position will primarily serve students in the primary grades (Kindergarten through Grade 2). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early literacy and numeracy, as well as experience with behavior management strategies appropriate for young learners.</p> <p>The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative team committed to providing inclusive, individualized, and developmentally appropriate instruction to meet the diverse needs of our students.</p> <p>Responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Providing specialized instruction in accordance with IEP goals and objectives </li><li>Collaborating with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families </li><li>Supporting the development of foundational literacy and numeracy skills </li><li>Implementing evidence-based behavior support strategies </li><li>Monitoring student progress and maintaining appropriate documentation </li><li>Participating in PPTs and contributing to IEP development </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Connecticut certification in Special Education (165 - Comprehensive Special Education, K-12) or equivalent </li><li>Strong knowledge of early childhood development, literacy, and numeracy instruction </li><li>Experience with behavior intervention plans and classroom management techniques </li><li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills </li><li>Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment </li></ul> <p>Start Date: August 25, 2025</p> <p>Application Deadline: Open until filled</p> <p>Interested candidates please apply online at www.reg4.k12.ct.us (click employment link).</p>
