<p>JOB SUMMARY Sizer School, a North Central Charter Essential School, is seeking a driven, dynamic, and experienced special education teacher to be a part of the high school instructional team. This educator is responsible for creating a classroom environment that supports all students. This candidate will bring a passion for supporting and implementing best instructional practices, wrap around student support services, and a commitment to further promote an already existing positive collaborative environment. Only those candidates with a deep passion for the Sizer School mission and ready to teach in and be a part of an exemplary, innovative public middle/high school need apply.</p> <p>MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>?Provides specialized instruction for high school students. ?Provides inclusion support within content-area classrooms. ?Develops and writes Individualized Education Plans in collaboration with the IEP team. ?Manages a caseload of students with Individualized Education Plans. ?Chairs IEP meetings (annual reviews) for students on caseload. ?Maintains compliance with IDEA regulations. ?Works collaboratively with Grade Level Teams to plan for instruction. ?Completes required assessments for initial and 3 year re-evaluations.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS ?Dedication to the Sizer School mission. ?Knowledge of best practices in special education instruction and assessment. ?Knowledge of curriculum design and Massachusetts Frameworks. ?A Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university. ?Highly qualified to teach in the assignment area. MA DESE License with SEI Endorsement preferred. Mandatory within the first year of employment. ?Experience working with a diverse population of students. ?Innovative team player with abundant energy and proven history of service. ?Strong communication and collaboration skills. ?Ability to pass CORI and National Criminal Background check</p>
