We'd love to welcome you to our team!TheDepartment of Parks and Recreation (DPR)is seeking a detail-oriented and fiscally knowledgeable professionalto support the effective allocation and management of financial resources that sustain and enhance the City's parks and programs.</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate all departmental budgeting activities, including the development and planning of DPR's annual budget and Capital Improvement Program requests for equipment. </li><li>Ensure the department's budget accurately reflects the equipment, staffing, and supply needs required to maintain and enhance City parks and recreational facilities. </li><li>Serve as the department's Purchasing Card (P-Card) Coordinator to manage reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. </li><li>Collaborate with P-Card users and supervisors to maintain compliance with fiscal policies. </li><li>Support operational and maintenance activities that keep the City's parks safe, welcoming, and well-maintained. </li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Special Work Requirements</p> <ul> <li>May be required to serve as the Damage Assessment Coordinator for the department during declared civil defense emergencies. </li><li>Will serve as Disaster Response worker during declared emergencies. </li></ul> <p>Apply today! If you do not have your documentation to verify your education at this time, please note that if selected for the job, you will need to furnish verification documents in order to move forward in the hiring process.</p> <p>If you do not have your documentation to verify your education at this time, please note that if selected for the job, you will need to furnish verification documents in order to move forward in the hiring process.</p> <p>EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:</p> <p>Three years of professional work experience inbudget administration, personnel management (i.e., human resources), or management analysis.</p> <p>Such experience must have demonstrated:</p> <ul> <li>Application of specialized knowledge in a focused role with a substantial degree of responsibility. </li><li>An ability to independently apply critical thinking skills to analyze, evaluate and solve complex, non-routine administrative problems related to operational, programmatic, or fiscal management. </li><li>An ability to apply basic principles and practices of public administration including personnel management, budget and fiscal administration, and organization and method analysis. </li><li>Familiarity in preparing information for technical reports for management addressing organizational goals, objectives, and priorities. </li></ul> <p>Substitution: A Master's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or Public Administration from an accredited four-year college/university may be substituted for six (6) months of the required work experience.</p> <p>The substitution must be met at the time of application. Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided.
