<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Support Staff/School Climate Advisor</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>6/4/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Ridge Hill School</p> <p>Date Available:</p> <p>08/25/2025</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>Until Filled</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>HAMDEN PUBLIC SCHOOLS</p> <p>HAMDEN, CT 06517</p> <p>SCHOOL CLIMATE ADVISOR</p> <p>AT</p> <p>RIDGE HILL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Bachelors' Degree required</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, and administrators</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to lead and manage a team</p> </li><li> <p>Strong verbal and written communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates effective problem solving, organizational skills, planning, record keeping and computer literacy skills</p> </li><li> <p>Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable</p> </li></ol> <p>Reports To:</p> <p>Building Administrator</p> <p>Job Goal:</p> <p>To assist and support the school administration in creating and maintaining a positive school climate.</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for training and developing protocol for lunch/recess aides and student support staff </li><li>Develops structured activities for students during recess </li><li>Monitors Lunch Aides in the cafeteria and at recess </li><li>Assists students with academic work and/or problem resolution </li><li>Assists in shaping students' behavioral and decision-making skills through positive reinforcement strategies </li><li>Works collaboratively with building administrator in developing schedules, routines, and coverage for the cafeteria, recess and student support center </li><li>Consults with faculty, administrators and other special services personnel on student behavioral issues </li><li>Maintains records related to the Student Support Center and inputs student discipline information into a computer-based program (SWIS) </li><li>Additional responsibilities as determined by the building administrator </li></ul> <p>Terms of Employment:</p> <p>180 days per year. This is a non-union position.</p> <p>Salary:</p> <p>$30,000 per year</p>
