Our vision is to ultimately help the world buy it and go.</p> <p>Reporting to the Director of Software Engineering, we are seeking a junior Software Engineer Intern or intern(s) to join our team of savvy technologists You should be ready to be a part of solving complex problems and deliver solutions that make life and work easier to those who use our products.</p> <p>How you'll make an impact, your primary responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Develop software, write Java and SQL code while learning high standards of quality, scalability, performance, maintainability, security and compliance with PCI and SOX requirements </li><li>Design new database structures and code, optimized for a high performance and large volume FinTech platform </li><li>Deliver server side software features using latest long term support Java version 11 and greater </li><li>Collaborate with our embedded firmware team integrating card reader hardware and telemeters with server platform, as well as Product Management, QA, DevOps and other team members </li><li>Develop Jenkinsfile Groovy scripts to automate the CI/CD pipeline for builds, deployments and auto tests </li><li>Iterate and commit code changes to Bitbucket frequently as a member of high performing Agile team using Trunk-based Development methods </li><li>Follow PCI compliance standards and best practices to ensure safe and secure software products </li><li>Develop unit and integration test coverage, measured in Clover, before it is released to QA for testing, along with troubleshooting product issues </li></ul> <p>What you will learn:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Payment industry SaaS experience</p> </li><li> <p>Programming languages: Java, SQL, PL/pgSQL, PL/SQL, JavaScript</p> </li><li> <p>Databases: PostgreSQL</p> </li><li> <p>Willingness to learn the system and write efficient SQL queries and statements</p> </li><li> <p>Exposure to with large scalable platforms and databases - over 20TBs</p> </li><li> <p>Technologies: multithreading, JDBC, servlets, JSP, TCP/IP, SOAP, REST, XML, JSON, HTML, CSS, security, encryption, open source, web development, web services, web protocols</p> </li><li> <p>Cloud environments: AWS</p> </li><li> <p>Operating systems: Linux, Windows</p> </li><li> <p>Agile processes were you will work with team members to estimate tasks and commit to timelines</p> </li><li> <p>Gain experience with Trunk-based Development methodologies and GitFlow.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work on an Agile SCRUM team</p> </li><li> <p>Self-starter and quick learner</p> </li><li> <p>Business results oriented and driven</p> </li><li> <p>Team player, able to work independently and with other team members in different time zones</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to think and work "outside the box"</p> </li><li> <p>Positive attitude, motivation, energy, passion</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work well in a fast-paced, agile environment</p> </li></ul> <p>Program Details:</p> <ul> <li>Dates: June 1st - August 21st </li><li>Opportunity to participate in a large group with other interns across multiple departments </li><li>Mentorship & Coaching Opportunities </li></ul> <p>The position is located in Malvern, PA or in Atlanta, GA.
