<p>Role: Green Coffee Account Manager</p> <p>Department: Customer Experience</p> <p>Reports To: Senior Customer Success Manager</p> <p>Compensation Range: Base salary starting at $75,000 per year + 20% bonus opportunity</p> <p>About Us</p> <p>Headquartered in Berkeley, CA, Bellwether Coffee is working to positively transform the coffee industry by making coffee roasting more accessible and sustainable.</p> <p>Our revolutionary electric, ventless commercial coffee roaster does not require gas lines or expensive ventilation. It's the most consistent and controllable roaster available, has the lowest carbon footprint of any commercial roaster ever made, and was designed by coffee people who want a better future. Our roasting platform allows Bellwether customers to easily and responsibly source green coffee from incredible coffee farms around the world, expertly roast using artisan-crafted roast profiles, and share fresh, delicious coffee!</p> <p>About this role</p> <p>The Green Coffee Account Manager will report to the Senior Customer Success Manager and play a key role in managing customer relationships and growing their coffee business with us. This role will ensure that Bellwether's roasting customers have access to the best green coffee options, maintain current order volumes, and identify opportunities for growth and additional Marketplace adoption. Candidates require a strong understanding of green coffee sales, industry trends, as well as a passion for sustainability and relationship-building.</p> <p>Job Location</p> <p>The role requires on-site presence in Berkeley a minimum of 4 days per week. For the first 90 days of employment, this role is required to work onsite full-time, after which the schedule can adjust to work remotely one day per week, as business needs allow.</p> <p>Primarily Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Serve as the main point of contact for the coffee customers assigned. </li><li>Manage customer accounts by building strong relationships with roasters and retailers using Bellwether's platform. </li><li>Build long-term relationships by understanding each client's needs and preferences. </li><li>Provide ongoing support, answer questions, resolve issues, and ensure client satisfaction. </li><li>Drive green coffee sales, ensuring customers have access to high-quality, sustainable coffee offerings. </li><li>Identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities (e.g., promoting new coffee lines, equipment, or seasonal blends). </li><li>Collaborate with the Coffee Team to maintain an optimal green coffee portfolio aligned with Bellwether's sustainability and quality standards as well as customer needs. </li><li>Analyze customer data and market trends to provide insights that improve coffee offerings and purchasing experiences. </li><li>Support marketing and sales efforts, including customer outreach, promotions, and training on Bellwether's green coffee program. </li><li>Assist in contract management for larger accounts, ensuring smooth negotiations and fulfillment. </li><li>Represent Bellwether Coffee at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings as needed. </li></ul> <p>Key Success Metrics</p> <ul> <li>Account retention rate-spend and churn </li><li>Order volume growth per account and/or across assigned book of accounts </li><li>Customer satisfaction (CSAT or NPS) </li><li>On-time delivery rate </li><li>Upsell/cross-sell conversion </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>2+ years of experience in green coffee sales or account management, preferably in specialty coffee. </li><li>Strong knowledge of green coffee, roasting, and industry trends. </li><li>Strong consultative approach to nurturing and growing customers. </li><li>Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Self-motivated, proactive team player with innovative ideas to inspire customer loyalty and adoption. </li><li>Quick on your feet! Ability to adjust the plan and present solutions as needed. </li><li>Experience managing customer accounts and sales pipelines. </li><li>Passion for sustainability and ethical sourcing in the coffee industry. </li><li>Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams. </li><li>Humility and ability to thrive in a collaborative environment: We're a small but mighty team made up of many different disciplines and backgrounds. </li><li>Familiarity with Slack, Hubspot, G-Suite products, and cloud-based equivalents. </li><li>You are authorized to work in the U.S. </li></ul>
