<p>The City of Virginia Beach Department of Human Services is seeking to hire Part-time Direct Support Professional II's with experience working with adults with intellectual disability and experience inside an Intermediate Care Facility {ICF}, Residential or long-term care setting for the Indian River Road Intermediate Care Facility.</p> <p>Available Shifts</p> <ul> <li>Friday - Monday: 2:00pm - 9:30pm </li><li>Saturday - Monday: 12:00pm - 10:00pm </li></ul> <p>Duties:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ensure and implement that all aspects of the individuals' plans are executed promptly and consistently for 10 individuals.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist the Shift Leader and team in assessing all client needs, recreational activities, outings, and shift assignments for the day at the beginning of the shift.</p> </li><li> <p>Complete tasks required for primary clients, including maintaining fund ledgers, personal inventories, room cleaning, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain good knowledge of the medication process, including reviewing the MAR, passing medications without errors, verification, counts, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Attend assigned medical appointments and complete medical/dental consults after appointments.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain effective, respectful communication with day program staff and team members to identify and address areas of concern.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in mentoring new staff under the direction of the immediate supervisor.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure safety within the physical environment as well as food safety.</p> </li><li> <p>Identify and defuse crises and contact necessary program staff for reporting purposes.</p> </li></ul>
