<p>1:1 To serve under the Athletic Director as a coach in an assigned sport with responsibilities for the following:</p> <p>1:1.1 Conducting practices within the legal dates and rules as outlined by the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association, including assurance that the athletes have had an approved physical examination before the start of any practice season.</p> <p>1:1.2 Selecting players who will be an asset and an example in the representation of the Fairhaven Public Schools; Allowing only members in good scholastic and social standing to participate in interscholastic sports.</p> <p>1:1.3 Securing the approval of the Director for holding of any contest or practice with outside teams.</p> <p>1:1.4 Keeping proper equipment check lists for the accounting of all equipment and related materials.</p> <p>1:1.5 Supervising the neatness and cleanliness of supply rooms and locker rooms.</p> <p>1:1.6 Arranging for the proper acquisition of supplies and materials, including the reconditioning of equipment and the ordering of new equipment and supplies.</p> <p>1:1.7 Working with the Principal and Athletic Director to establish practice times which would allow the coach to be responsible for the proper supervision of players in the locker rooms as well as on the practice field (court, etc.)</p> <p>1:1.8 Properly treating and handling of injuries including the making out of accident reports, insurance reports and referral to the proper authorities.</p> <p>1:1.9 Assisting the Director in the preparation of budgetary materials for the conduct of each coached sport.</p> <p>1:1.10 Arranging with the Director for the selection and awarding of letters, insignias, honors, and certificates as established under approved school, MIAA or League processes/regulations.</p> <p>1:1.11 Attending all sport related league (SCC) pre-season and post-season meetings, representing FHS, its interests, and its programs.</p>
