<p>We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused staff hospitalist to join our inpatient care team in Rutherfordton, NC. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, evidence-based medical care to hospitalized patients while collaborating closely with nursing staff, specialists, case management, and hospital leadership.</p> <p>This opportunity offers a supportive team environment, balanced scheduling, and the chance to practice comprehensive inpatient medicine in a close-knit community setting.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for adult patients </li><li>Perform admissions, daily rounding, consultations, and discharges </li><li>Manage acute and chronic conditions in collaboration with specialists </li><li>Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and coordinate care plans </li><li>Ensure timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) </li><li>Adhere to evidence-based guidelines and hospital protocols </li><li>Support initiatives aimed at reducing length of stay and readmissions </li><li>Participate in quality improvement and patient safety programs </li><li>Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards </li><li>Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and discharge planning </li><li>Collaborate with primary care providers to ensure smooth transitions of care </li><li>Work closely with case management and social services to optimize discharge outcomes </li></ul> <p>Hospitalists at Rutherford Regional enjoy traditional 7 on/7 off block scheduling and reasonable patient census consistent with community hospital standards.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school </li><li>Board certified or board eligible in internal medicine or family medicine </li><li>Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted North Carolina medical license </li><li>Strong clinical judgment and teamwork skills </li><li>New graduates and experienced hospitalists encouraged to apply </li></ul> <p>Interested in advancing your career with TeamHealth?
