<p>Posting Number Stu440P Working Title Summer Registration A-Team Orientation Leader FLSA Student Pay Level B Advertised Pay Rate Position Status Regular Student Employment Department Student Emp Student Affairs Job Summary/Basic Function</p> <ul> <li>Attend and participate in ALL training sessions. </li><li>Supervise activities involving new students attending the summer registration days. </li><li>Serve as a positive representative of the University to new students and their families. </li><li>Facilitate new students' introduction to Shepherd University by maintaining an open, helpful attitude and using effective communication techniques. </li><li>Promote interaction among new students during small group discussions and activities </li><li>Demonstrate the ability to engage students who struggle socially or who are not typically extroverted and prefer not to be engaged. </li><li>Be fully prepared to respond to student and family questions about social and academic aspects of university life. </li><li>Facilitate small group interactions on various topics, including course enrollment and student life issues. Assist faculty advisors as needed. </li><li>Facilitate social activities for new students through direct involvement and participation. </li><li>Assist with and support all aspects of the summer registration programs. </li><li>Selection for A-Team is contingent upon having a 2.5 cumulative Shepherd University GPA. </li><li>Applicants must be enrolled at least part-time for Summer 2026 and/or Fall 2026. </li></ul> <p>Reference: One reference is required to complete the application. All references are due at the time of the scheduled interview. An official reference form will be provided. NOTE: References should be completed by Shepherd University staff or faculty excluding Orientation and Student Success Center staff.</p> <p>Time Commitment:</p> <ul> <li>A-Team must attend the scheduled training prior to registration days. Training is scheduled to occur during the first week of June. This is subject to change and will be communicated in advance. </li><li>A-Team is required to work during all scheduled Orientation dates. Please review your summer schedule prior to applying. </li><li>Summer registration dates are as follows: </li><li>June 9, 2026 </li><li>June 11, 2026 </li><li>June 16, 2026 </li><li>July 17, 2026 </li><li>August 7, 2026 </li></ul> <p>Payment: A-Team members receive room (if applicable) and meals (as available) during the program and are hourly. Students are not paid during meal breaks and other times designated as breaks by the supervisor.
