<p>Purpose Statement</p> <p>The job of Student Information Systems Manager is done for the purpose/s of managing all parts of the student information and enrollment database systems; providing instruction and advice to system users; analyzing problems and issues related to the Student Information System and related software; coordinating usage among all system users; producing a wide variety of statistical reports; and serving as amember of the Executive Leadership Team.</p> <p>This job reports to Chief Executive Officer</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Administers Student Information System and enrollment system security (e.g. authorization, access,passwords, etc.) for the purpose of regulating access to the system and ensuring confidentiality ofstudent records. </li><li>Designs report options and/or database applications managing the essential functions of the system forthe purpose of providing personnel with information customized to their specific needs. </li><li>Develops and prepares materials for the purpose of providing instruction and reference for all users of the system. </li><li>Identifies issues related to student information and enrollment systems and software applications for the purpose of diagnosing and resolving user problems. </li><li>Manages connections to the system and enrollment system software for the purpose of ensuring structures are in place for accurate and timely data flow and access. </li><li>Participates in and/or facilitates meetings, trainings, and workshops including Executive Leadership </li><li>Team and Board meetings for the purpose of communicating student information system data, use of the system and peripheral capabilities, and/or accommodating district goals. </li><li>Provides training for network site staff on the use of student information systems (e.g. new applications, upgrades, updates, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring proper and efficient use of system. </li><li>Responds to inquiries relating to computer hardware and/or software applications (primarily studentinformation, enrollment, and attendance software) for the purpose of resolving problems and supporting site and network users. </li><li>Responds to user requests for a variety of report options (e.g. assessment information, attendance, enrollment, etc.) for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties. </li><li>Transfers data from the enrollment system into the Student Information System for the purpose of ensuring availability of needed information for state and federal reporting. </li></ul> <p>Other Functions</p> <p>Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective</p> <p>Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Skills, Knowledge and Abilities</p> <p>SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet</p> <p>changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: preparing and maintaining accurate records; analyzing data; conducting meetings; and diagnosing technology platform system malfunctions.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE is required to perform advanced math; read technical information, compose a variety ofdocuments, and/or facilitate group discussions; and solve practical problems. Specific knowledgebased competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: current generation office software; codes/laws/rules/regulations/policies;current and emerging technology; methods of instruction and training; and</p> <p>technology safety and security practices.</p> <p>ABILITY is required to schedule a number of activities, meetings, and/or events; often gather, collate, and/or classify data; and consider a number of factors when using equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety</p> <p>of circumstances; analyze data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with data of varied</p> <p>types and/or purposes; and utilize a variety of job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data frequently requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and</p> <p>problem solving with equipment is moderate. Specific ability based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: being attentive to detail; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships;</p> <p>communicating with persons with diverse technical knowledge and skills; maintaining confidentiality; and working with frequent interruptions.</p> <p>Responsibility</p> <p>Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods; directing other persons within a small work unit; operating within a defined budget. Utilization of resources from other work units is often required to perform the job's functions. There is a continual opportunity to impact the organization's services.</p> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 80% sitting,10% walking, 10% standing.
