Other assigned CYP and FCC personnel are eligible for 25% discount. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions and the Individual Occupational Requirement (IOR) for the GS-1529 Series.</p> <p>BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL GRADE LEVELS:</p> <p>Bachelor's degree: that included 24 semester hours of mathematics and statistics, of which at least 12 semester hours were in mathematics and 6 semester hours were in statistics.</p> <p>OR</p> <p>COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: at least 24 hours of mathematics and statistics, including at least 12 hours in mathematics and 6 hours in statistics, as show above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.</p> <p>In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:</p> <p>SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>GS-11: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes mathematics principles and concepts, and familiarity with other scientific and engineering disciplines to carry out conventional scientific process. Experience in related disciplines to design, develop and adapt scientific methods and techniques.</p> <p>OR</p> <p>EDUCATION: 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. NOTE: You must submit copy of official transcripts.</p> <p>OR</p> <p>COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100 percent. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts.</p> <p>GS-12: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include space surveillance systems substantially similar in functionality, relevant mathematical and statistical sciences in order to design, test or upgrade software. Experience in administrative aspects of task engineering and management, e.g., procurement policies, preparation of work statements and development plans, cost evaluations, etc.</p> <p>GS-13: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include broad areas of classical and modern higher mathematics to originate and develop improved and/or new mathematical models in cyber systems, one or more specialized areas of operation and cyber related theories, atmospheric density modeling, simulation and software systems to conduct complex original studies and apply research findings to broad studies of an unprecedented nature.</p> <p>GS-14: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-13, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include broad areas of classical and modern higher mathematics to originate and develop improved and/or new mathematical models in cyber systems, one or more specialized areas of operation and cyber related theories, atmospheric density modeling, simulation and software systems to conduct complex original studies and apply research findings to broad studies of an unprecedented nature, skill in coordinating extensive projects in assigned areas of engineering principals, knowledge of regulations and mission and strategic objectives.</p> <p>GS-15 Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-14, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include space surveillance network, space operational processes and procedures, orbital mechanics, applied physics and mathematics, applying and using mathematical and simulation models to verify and validate space systems. Broad management principles associated with directing highly skilled technical personnel and combining in house and external resources for complex analytical and technical projects.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):</p> <ol> <li> <p>Knowledge or mathematics principles and concepts, and familiarity with other scientific and engineering disciplines to carry out conventional scientific processes, knowledge of mathematics and related disciplines to design, develop and adapt scientific methods and techniques.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge in space surveillance systems substantially similar in functionality in order to design, test or upgrade software, knowledge of administrative aspects of task engineering and management.</p> </li></ol> <p>3.Skill in broad areas of classical and modern higher mathematics to originate and develop mathematical models in cyber systems.</p> <ol start="4"> <li> <p>Knowledge of mathematics and physics for own independent research in antennas and propagation, electromagnetic systems concepts involving microwave antennas, radar, communications and RF sensor technology.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of of safety and security regulations, practices and procedures, space surveillance network, space operational processes and procedures.</p> </li></ol> <p>PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.</p> <p>VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
