<p>Position Overview:</p> <p>Under direct supervision of the Manager Ambulatory Clinic oversees a staff of 15 comprised of RN's, LPN's, and Medical Assistants. Staff are responsible for supporting Physicians, Certified Nurse Midwives, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.</p> <p>Supervisor Tasks and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Manage and Schedule nurses and clinical support staff </li><li>Creating and implementing nursing policies to foster a positive and organized work environment while planning, prioritizing and assigning health care tasks to clinical support team members </li><li>Encouraging all staff to adhere to the highest standards in patient care and conducting regular staff reviews </li><li>Maintaining knowledge of current trends in nursing and ambulatory care and educating teams </li><li>Communicating with patients and their family members as needed </li><li>Managing patient and employee records with a focus on following HIPAA regulations and quality standards </li><li>Providing a direct line of communication between patients, nursing staff and physicians </li><li>Educate and train new nurses and evaluate their performance </li></ul> <p>Clinical Tasks and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Provide professional nursing care to patients for the Department of OB/GYN. </li><li>Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs in the practice. </li><li>Manage telephone communications with patients, providers, staff, insurance companies, and other outside entities </li><li>Triage patient calls and perform other clinical duties </li><li>Check in of patients, </li><li>Take vital signs, </li><li>Administer injections, </li><li>Assist clinician with exams, </li><li>Conduct prescription calls, </li><li>Arrange for patient testing, </li><li>Obtain authorizations and referrals for patient's insurance, </li><li>Assist with patient education, </li><li>Maintain medical charts, </li><li>Provide backup to other staff as needed </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul>
