<p>"Job Summary</p> <p>Do you have OR-related experience?</p> <p>Are you eager for an influential role where you can drive change and help grow an organization?</p> <p>As Business Director Surgical Services, you will directly impact the care of some of the most vulnerable patients in the country. This vital role supports efficient usage practices and strategic initiatives for perioperative departments. The Business Director promotes high performance of daily operations by closely monitoring booked cases and driving improvements in KPIs within the Main OR, procedural areas, and IR/Cath Lab.</p> <p>The Business Director:</p> <ul> <li>Manages Department's daily operations with appropriate use of personnel and supervises scheduling coordinators. </li><li>Monitors OR scheduling to promote patient access, OR utilization, and accuracy of data entry of scheduling staff. </li><li>Serves as point of contact for block time inquiries including additional block, add-ons for emergent cases, reallocations and acts a timekeeper. </li><li>Assists the Sr Director and Physician leaders with strategic planning and case efficiency to maximize utilization. Troubleshoots issues and escalates when necessary. </li><li>Maintains, implements, adheres to, and enforces departmental operating policies and procedures to include all programs, quality control, quality assurance and safety. Maintains Department's staff competency program. </li><li>Reviews and performs statistical analysis of Epic and/or outside vendor data for use in employer and network reports. </li><li>Imports and exports data elements from multiple systems. </li><li>Prepares and provides utilization reports and data for quarterly block meetings and monthly OR Leadership meetings and analyzes departmental data. </li><li>Collaborates with clinical service leadership to address service specific issues and works with supply chain for department and case needs. </li><li>Interfaces with IT staff and surgical services staff to ensure data accuracy, case entry, and data metrics. </li><li>Helps develop and maintain annual capital and operations budget. </li></ul> <p>#STC</p> <p>#LI-AH1</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree or combination of relevant education and experience </li><li>Strong knowledge of surgical operations and OR case scheduling. OR-related experience is required </li><li>Experience using Epic OpTime </li><li>Solid understanding of reports, data, and metrics related to surgical operations </li><li>Strong analytical and critical thinking skills </li><li>Proactive, forward thinking self-starter eager to drive continuous improvements </li><li>Adaptable leader who influences smooth operations and improvements through a dependable, positive, and composed presence </li><li>Passion for learning all nuances of surgical services </li><li>Excellent collaboration, relationship building, communication, and change management skills </li><li>Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail </li></ul> <p>About St. Christopher's Hospital for Children</p> <p>St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, a partnership between Tower Health and Drexel University, is a 188-bed facility that provides exceptional care to children throughout the Greater Philadelphia area and surrounding counties.
