We are currently looking for a Buyer 2 to join our team in either Farmington Hills, MI or Franklin, TN.</p> <p>In this role, you will coordinate and negotiate with purchasing and cross-functional teams for model activities to purchase parts and services for NNA (Nissan North America) including the Smyrna, TN and Canton, MS plants.</p> <p>You will also ensure suppliers meet Nissan's quality, cost, and delivery goals. In addition, you'll resolve supply issues and support daily business operations.</p> <p>A Day in the Life:</p> <p>The responsibilities listed are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties for this role. Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed, to support business objectives.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Lead Purchasing Project Management (PPM) for minor and major model changes.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure project schedules from Project Management Office (PMO) and Vehicle Project Management (VPM) allow sufficient time for purchasing activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Assign purchasing team members for RFQ activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate key milestone dates and RFQ due dates to purchasing teams.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate technical and cost estimation details for RFQs.</p> </li><li> <p>Escalate issues to management when milestones are at risk.</p> </li><li> <p>Educate and facilitate purchasing teams through model change milestones.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage cost activity and conduct analysis using systems like DCW CPL, E2E, GTOP, SAP.</p> </li><li> <p>Foster relationships with project PDT members and cross-functional teams.</p> </li></ul> <p>Who We're Looking for:</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li> <p>3-5 years of experience in purchasing plus a Bachelor's degree.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and applications like E2E, GTOP, G2B, and/or SAP.</p> </li><li> <p>Project management skills to manage timelines and keep teams on track.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work on-site in Franklin, TN or Farmington Hills, MI.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to attend in-person and virtual meetings, including some night meetings with Japan.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to travel up to 10% locally.</p> </li></ul> <p>Desired:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Strong analytical and data analysis skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Self-starter, proactive and positive attitude.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent communication, negotiation, and cost analysis skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Technical knowledge of vehicle and component parts and assembly processes.</p> </li><li> <p>Commodity and market knowledge.</p> </li></ul> <p>What You'll Look Forward to at Nissan:</p> <p>Career Growth and Continuous Learning Opportunities: Benefit from diverse career paths, cross-departmental moves, and innovative learning platforms.
