The Courier's primary job function is to transport mail, materials, linen, and Pharmacy medications throughout all facilities of SOMC and other locations as designated including patient addresses. Performs other duties as assigned.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam Required </li></ul> <p>Licensure:</p> <ul> <li>BMVL required (Must maintain eligibility to drive as determined by SOMC insurance carriers) </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Previous experience in driving delivery vehicles preferred. </li></ul> <p>JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS</p> <p>The following is a summary of the major job duties of this job. Specific activities may change from time to time.</p> <ol> <li> <p>Collects postal mail from post office, delivers to both hospital campus mailrooms and sorts per department.</p> </li><li> <p>Transports linen, interoffice mail, medical records, x-ray films and reports and distributes within S.O.M.C. facilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Transports legal and confidential material for S.O.M.C.</p> </li><li> <p>Transports small portable patient equipment and materials within the healthcare facilities of S.O.M.C.</p> </li><li> <p>Transports biological specimens and bio-hazardous materials to and from various locations for S.O.M.C.</p> </li><li> <p>Delivers materials to financial institutions.</p> </li><li> <p>Delivers Pharmacy medications to SOMC locations and patient addresses.</p> </li><li> <p>Completes daily vehicle condition report and recommends or requests appropriate maintenance to be performed.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares and maintains accurate transportation logs and other data as required.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ol> <p>Thank you for your interest in Southern Ohio Medical Center.
