The Program Assistant/Associate will assist in planning and conducting county 4-H programs in partnership with other 4-H programming staff and Extension personnel at the Chatham County Center. Such programming will include, but not be limited to, school enrichment, club programming, camps, special interest programs, and community outreach events. This staff member will train and recruit critical community volunteers and program leaders to continue program outreach throughout Guilford County. This staff member will also act in a Volunteer Coordinator role for the Guilford County Center.</p> <p>This position is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 40-hour per week position. Minimum Experience/Education</p> <p>The minimum requirement for employment with the North Carolina Cooperative Extension (NCCE) is a high-school diploma or equivalent. Advanced training in related fields is preferred.</p> <p>Department Required Skills</p> <p>Computer literacy, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Suite, is expected.</p> <p>Candidates should have excellent time and resource management skills, be personable, and be able to build networking coalitions.</p> <p>Candidates must have experience in working with youth and adult audiences.</p> <p>Candidates must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and be able to handle multiple tasks and establish priorities accordingly.</p> <p>Candidates must recognize the importance of teamwork and fully support the comprehensive county Extension program.</p> <p>Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education</p> <p>We prefer that the applicant have a minimum of an Associate's Degree in education, child or youth development, family and consumer sciences, natural resources, STEM, and/or agricultural education.
