The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with identified emotional regulation needs, helping them develop coping strategies, social skills, and academic success in a supportive and structured environment. This position involves working collaboratively with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure comprehensive student development.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Specialized Instruction: Plan, develop, and deliver individualized and group instruction based on students' IEPs, focusing on social-emotional learning, behavioral regulation, and academic skills. </li><li>IEP Management: Participate in the development and review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring goals are measurable, attainable, and aligned with student needs. </li><li>Behavioral Support: Implement evidence-based positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors. Teach students self-monitoring and self-management techniques. </li><li>Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with general education teachers, administrators, counselors, and outside service providers to integrate ERI strategies across all school settings. </li><li>Assessment and Data Collection: Conduct formal and informal assessments to monitor student progress toward IEP goals. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student performance and behavioral data. </li><li>Crisis Intervention: Respond appropriately to student crises, utilizing training in de-escalation and safety protocols. </li><li>Parent Communication: Maintain open and consistent communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavioral needs, and strategies for home support. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Certification: </li></ul> <p>Valid New Jersey Teacher of Students with Disabilities certification</p> <p>Valid New Jersey instructional certificate (CE, CEAS, or Standard)</p> <p>Salary and offered benefits as per BA Step 1 of the attached SEA Contract</p>
