<p>Packer</p> <p>Reports To: Manufacturing Engineer Manager</p> <p>Location: Saint Joseph, MI</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>A Packer is responsible for sending out inventory to customers or storefronts. Their role is to read incoming orders and adequately pack those products for shipment. Packers have an in-depth understanding of the product being packed and complying with each customer's specifications. Confirmation of product compliance throughout their shift is critical from UPC labels, pack quantity, carton labelling to skid pack quantity/orientation. Packers will perform basic quality assurance by inspecting goods and their containers for possible damage before packing them to be shipped and maintain clean and orderly work areas.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions</p> <ul> <li>Abides by all established organizational policies, rules, and regulations. </li><li>Complete all applicable systemic transactions. </li><li>Operate & setup applicable equipment: Label Printers & Applicators, Case Sealers, & Case Coders </li><li>Maintaining a safe and ergonomic workflow of product and clean/organized workspace. </li><li>Packing/palletizing orders. </li><li>Dispatching as required. </li><li>Product put away. </li><li>Picking orders. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Bending and stooping throughout the day. </li><li>Repetitive hand and wrist movements. </li><li>Lifting up to 50 pounds required. </li><li>Standing for long periods. </li><li>Walking long distances. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>6 months picking/packing in a performance measured environment preferred. </li><li>6 months' Radio Frequency RF scanner experience preferred. </li><li>Familiar with warehouse safety regulations. </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge and ability to use Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) systems. Epicor is a plus. </li><li>Trained or able to be trained to operate applicable powered equipment and tools (or able to be trained). </li><li>Ability to use or be trained to use Radio Frequency (RF) scanners and tablets. </li><li>Ability to operate all applicable equipment and tools. </li><li>Meet established picking/packing productivity goals. </li><li>Knowledge of basic mathematical skills. </li><li>Follow written and verbal instructions. </li><li>Accurate picking and packing results. </li><li>Working with other departments. </li></ul> <p>Note*</p> <p>Every effort has been made to identify the essential functions of this position.
