In short, we build solutions that set the benchmark for steam utilization worldwide.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Pipe Fitter supports ESMU fabrication operations by performing pipe preparation, material handling, and general production support activities. This role is designed to keep skilled welders and pipe fitters focused on high-value fabrication and welding work by absorbing prep, staging, and auxiliary tasks that routinely interrupt production flow.</p> <p>Essential Functions & Responsibilities</p> <p>Pipe Preparation & Fabrication Support</p> <ul> <li>Prepare pipe for fabrication and welding, including cutting, grinding, cleaning, beveling, and basic fit-up assistance </li><li>Thread pipe using hand or machine methods (½" to 2") </li><li>Assist other pipe fitters with layout, assembly, and bolting activities </li><li>Dismantle and remove existing pipe or assemblies as required </li><li>Support fabrication of pipe spools, supports, and sub-assemblies </li></ul> <p>Production & Shop Support</p> <ul> <li>Assist with hydrostatic testing activities, including setup and teardown </li><li>Assist with paint prep, cleaning, masking, and finishing support </li><li>Transport materials and assemblies throughout the facility using appropriate material-handling equipment </li><li>Perform general shop support tasks to reduce production interruptions and improve workflow efficiency </li></ul> <p>Safety, Quality & Housekeeping</p> <ul> <li>Comply with all safety, environmental, and quality requirements </li><li>Maintain 5S / 6S standards in assigned work areas </li><li>Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and always follow safe work practices </li><li>Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs </li></ul> <p>Education, Experience & Skills</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent preferred </li><li>Prior experience in fabrication, pipe work, construction, or industrial manufacturing preferred </li><li>Ability to read and interpret basic drawings and layout </li><li>Ability to read measuring tools and follow work instructions accurately </li><li>Familiarity with hand tools and basic shop equipment </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and move materials throughout the work shift </li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without assistance </li><li>Ability to work in a fabrication shop environment with exposure to noise, equipment, and industrial conditions </li></ul> <p>About Us</p> <p>Steam Thermal Solutions is one of four businesses within Spirax Group, with global coverage across 67 operating units.
