<p>Scientist/Geologist</p> <p>Department: Civil/Environmental</p> <p>Employment Type: Full Time</p> <p>Location: East Brunswick, NJ</p> <p>Reporting To: Behram Turan</p> <p>Compensation: $80,000 - $110,000 / year</p> <p>Description</p> <p>CME Associates is seeking a motivated Mid-Level Scientist / Geologist with 5-8 years of experience to support a variety of LSRP-led site remediation projects and active landfill operations. This role involves conducting and managing Preliminary Assessments (PA), Site Investigations (SI), Remedial Investigations (RI), and Remedial Action Workplans (RAW) in accordance with NJDEP requirements. The position also includes supporting landfill operations through compliance inspections, permitting, leachate sampling, annual bond and topographic survey reporting, and related field and office tasks.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform and manage field investigations, soil and groundwater sampling, and data analysis for PA/SI/RI/RAW/RAR activities </li><li>Prepare and review technical reports, workplans, and permit applications in accordance with NJDEP Technical Requirements for Site Remediation (N.J.A.C. 7:26E). </li><li>Assist the LSRP in developing remedial strategies and preparing submittals for NJDEP approval. </li><li>Support our engineers involved in landfill cell design, permitting, and operational activities, including leachate treatment system design and compliance monitoring. </li><li>Support our engineers involved in conducting periodic compliance inspections, preparing annual bond and topographic survey reports, various permit applications for approval from regulatory agencies. </li><li>Coordinate and manage subcontractors, laboratory services, and drilling activities. </li><li>Maintain clear communication with project managers, regulatory agencies, and clients. </li><li>Ensure all field work is conducted in compliance with health and safety protocols. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or related discipline (Master's preferred). </li><li>5-8 years of related professional experience in site remediation and/or operating landfill services. </li><li>Familiarity with NJDEP Site Remediation Program and LSRP process </li><li>Strong technical writing, data interpretation, and project management skills. </li><li>Experience conducting soil, groundwater, and surface water sampling </li><li>Basic knowledge of municipal landfill operations, design, or leachate management systems is a plus. </li><li>OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (or ability to obtain). </li><li>Valid driver's license and ability to work at active landfill, contaminated sites,and other field locations as needed. </li></ul> <p>Why Join Us?</p> <ul> <li>Work on diverse projects that make a measurable difference in environmental protection and compliance. </li><li>Collaborate with a seasoned team of professionals dedicated to technical excellence and client service. </li><li>Competitive salary and benefits package. </li><li>Opportunities for professional growth, continuing education, and career advancement. </li></ul> <p>Benefits</p> <p>CME offers a competitive compensation package including: medical, prescription, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) retirement plan with employer match, educational assistance program and paid time off.</p>
