<p>About the Colorado Office of Public Guardianship (OPG): </p> <p>The Colorado Office of Public Guardianship (OPG) provides guardianship services to eligible indigent and incapacitated adult individuals who have no responsible family members or friends who are available and appropriate to serve as guardian; lack adequate resources to compensate a private guardian and pay the costs associated with an appointment proceeding; and are not subject to a petition for appointment of guardian filed by a county adult protective services unit or otherwise authorized by C.R.S. § 26-3.1-104. This position is responsible for performing grant management work related to researching, writing, obtaining grants, and ensuring compliance with applicable grant provisions, regulations, and statutes.</p> <p>Key Responsibility Summary: The Grants Specialist identifies, secures, and manages funding opportunities to advance the mission and programs of the Colorado Office of Public Guardianship (OPG). This includes:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Researching and pursuing grant opportunities from government agencies and private foundations.</p> </li><li> <p>Developing and writing persuasive proposals, budgets, and supporting documentation.</p> </li><li> <p>Managing all stages of the grant lifecycle, from application through compliance reporting.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensuring adherence to all applicable grant regulations, provisions, and deadlines.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborating with OPG leadership and staff to align funding strategies with agency goals.</p> </li></ul> <p>Reports to: Executive Director of the Office of Public Guardianship</p> <p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Grant Research & Proposal Development</p> <ul> <li> <p>Identify funding opportunities that align with OPG's mission and strategic priorities.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop compelling grant proposals, including narrative, budget, and required attachments.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a strategic grant calendar to manage application, extension, and reporting timelines.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with program staff to gather data, outcomes, and supporting documentation.</p> </li></ul> <p>Grant Administration & Compliance</p> <ul> <li> <p>Track and maintain records of all grant submissions, awards, deliverables, and reporting requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor grant budgets and reconcile expenditures, addressing discrepancies promptly.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare and submit required programmatic and financial reports in compliance with funder requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct audits to ensure compliance with grant terms, regulations, and statutes.</p> </li></ul> <p>Strategic & Legislative Collaboration</p> <ul> <li> <p>Contribute to strategic planning discussions to identify and support funding priorities.</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct competitive analysis and track proposal outcomes to improve future submissions.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with staff to create reports for, and present to, the Colorado legislature regarding funded programs.</p> </li></ul> <p>Disclaimer: This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties or responsibilities associated with the position.</p> <p>Required Competencies</p> <p>The successful candidate will have strong research, writing, and editing skills; the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines; and a proven record of securing grant funding. They will be highly detail-oriented, adept at budget development, and capable of working independently and collaboratively to achieve results.</p> <p>Experience Only:</p> <p>Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in grant writing, preferably in healthcare, social services, nonprofit management, or related sectors.</p> <p>OR</p> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <p>A combination of education from an accredited institution and relevant experience in grant writing, preferably in healthcare, social services, nonprofit management, or related sectors, totaling three (3) to five (5) years.
