<p>CORRECTIONS CLERK</p> <p>Union Affiliation: Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Deputies Association (KCSDA), an affiliate of the Police Officers Association of Michigan (POAM)</p> <p>GENERAL SUMMARY</p> <p>This position provides clerical support within the Kalamazoo County Jail, a 24-hour, physically secure criminal justice facility. Duties include but are not limited to data entry and processing, access to, scheduling, interdepartmental communication, intra-agency communication, communications with the public, phone correspondence, property collection, inventory, camera monitoring, inmate correspondence, building access control, emergency communications, and court document interpretation.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Process the intake and release of residents into and out of the Kalamazoo County Jail . </li><li>Inventory property of residents and accurately document all belongings. </li><li>Schedule meetings with interdisciplinary partners; law enforcement agencies, courts, parole & probation, and mental health providers. </li><li>Perform data entry </li><li>Monitor audio visual systems to ensure security and safety , and effective communication with staff, visitors, and residents. </li><li>Answer incoming calls, provide information, or direct callers to appropriate personnel. </li><li>Maintain and update various records and information systems. </li><li>Perform related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalency.
