<p>Philosophy and Logic Instructor - Temporary Part-Time</p> <p>Job Duties</p> <ol> <li> <p>Teach in person introductory philosophy classes and ethics classes.</p> </li><li> <p>Teach in person philosophy critical thinking classes.</p> </li><li> <p>Teach in person symbolic logic classes.</p> </li><li> <p>Teach in person history of philosophy classes.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in curriculum development.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in other faculty responsibilities and duties as appropriate, such as department.</p> </li><li> <p>Consider training for offering a Philosophy course online and campus committee work as well as professional development activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Utilize active learning techniques and culturally responsive teaching practices that engage historically marginalized students.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform professional duties including, but not limited to, testing, grading, maintaining grade book, maintaining student attendance records, assessing and submitting student learning outcomes (SLO's), etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Teach day and/or evening, and/or Saturday classes at any of the College's campuses as required.</p> </li><li> <p>Support and engage in an innovative culture of culturally responsive, inclusive and anti-racist practices as it relates to student success with an awareness of student equity gaps.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in ongoing training on diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism to center pedagogy.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.</p> </li></ol> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>CITY COLLEGE OF SAN FRANCISCO MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ol> <li> <p>Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to work with community college students with diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, sexual orientations, disabilities, and ethnic backgrounds.</p> </li><li> <p>Earned Master's Degree or higher in Philosophy from an accredited institution; OR THE EQUIVALENT.</p> </li><li> <p>Satisfactory completion of a minimum of one course in Symbolic (or Mathematical) Logic as part of the Philosophy major at the upper division or graduate level.</p> </li></ol> <p>[The degree major(s) posted on an applicant's transcript(s) must be exactly as listed above under the degree requirements.
