Most of our job sites are located within 70 miles of Des Moines, allowing employees to return home each night.</p> <p>While some roles require prior experience, we welcome motivated individuals who are eager to learn and grow with our team.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>Elder Corporation is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to maintain, diagnose, and repair our fleet of Light/Medium Duty Vehicles.</p> <p>This role is essential to minimizing vehicle downtime and ensuring our fleet operates safely and efficiently.</p> <p>The ideal candidate has Ford training with hands-on diesel diagnostics and repair experience with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced shop environment.</p> <p>Benefits</p> <p>Overtime, travel pay, per diem, and shift differentials in accordance with union contract</p> <p>Competitive union wages</p> <p>Health, Dental, and Vision insurance at no cost to the employee</p> <p>Pension benefits at no cost to the employee</p> <p>Advancement opportunities</p> <p>Boot reimbursement</p> <p>Specialty tools provided</p> <p>Safe, clean, and team-oriented work environment</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair light/medium duty vehicles</p> <p>Perform preventative maintenance and DOT inspections</p> <p>Repair engines, transmissions, drivetrain and suspension components</p> <p>Perform welding and fabrication as needed</p> <p>Maintain accurate service records, work orders and parts orders electronically</p> <p>Ensure all repairs meet company safety policies and DOT standards</p> <p>Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area</p> <p>Participate in program-specific training as provided</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>3+ years of experience as a light/medium duty technician</p> <p>Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, troubleshooting and repair</p> <p>Experience using diagnostic software and tools</p> <p>Ability to read and interpret service manuals and schematics</p> <p>Must provide basic mechanic tools (specialty tools supplied by company)</p> <p>Dependable with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn</p> <p>Ability to work extended hours during peak construction season</p> <p>Proficiency in maintaining and updating equipment records electronically</p> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>Ability to lift up to 75 pounds</p> <p>Ability to work in both shop and outdoor environments</p> <p>Comfortable working around heavy equipment and machinery</p> <p>Ability to bend, kneel, climb, and stand for extended periods</p> <p>All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, physical examination, and background check.</p>
