<p>Meritus Health is seeking a Unit Nutrition Assistant to join our Nutrition Services team. In this role, you will help deliver high-quality food service to patients by ensuring accurate meal selections, safe food handling, and excellent customer service. You will serve as a liaison between patients, dietitians, and foodservice staff to promote optimal nutrition care and maximize patient satisfaction.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Retrieve, evaluate, and process diet orders/messages and communicate updates to Nutrition Services and Nursing staff. </li><li>Collect patient meal selections via in-person visits or phone calls, ensuring compliance with diet orders and patient preferences. </li><li>Process meal tickets/tally sheets and deliver trays to patients according to schedule. </li><li>Answer and direct phone calls in a professional and courteous manner. </li><li>Operate CBORD and Bedside menu entry systems accurately. </li><li>Practice safe food handling, storage, and infection control in compliance with departmental and regulatory standards (HACCP, TJC, MD Dept. of Health). </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. </li><li>Experience: 1-2 years of food service experience preferred, particularly with modified diets and direct customer service. Clerical/typing ability preferred. </li><li>Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
