The Medical Assistant experiences continued training of all aspects of the Medical Assistant role.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <p>Provides direct patient care under direction of provider and nurses, including but not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Vitals </li><li>Allergy & medication reconciliation </li><li>Screenings </li><li>Patient history • Health maintenance </li><li>Advance directives </li><li>Virtual health </li><li>Language iTi </li></ul> <p>Provides indirect patient care related to the Medical Assistant scope of education, including but not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Scheduling </li><li>Work queues / Worklists </li><li>Check in/check out </li><li>Referrals </li><li>In-basket • Scanning </li><li>Chart prep </li><li>Non-clinical patient result callbacks </li><li>Prior authorizations </li><li>Transportation facilitation </li></ul> <p>Conducts point of care testing including quality control & documentation including but not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Hemoglobin A1C </li><li>Hemoglobin POCT </li></ul> <p>Performs administrative duties and covers front desk based on business needs.</p> <p>Performs other related duties as required.</p> <ul> <li>Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic Certification OR relative experience as outlined below. </li><li>In lieu of education requirement, at least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory space) may be considered. </li><li>Relevant experience or MA externship in a busy medical office. EPIC EMR experience, preferred. </li><li>Certified BLS to be obtained through employment provided RQI training. To be completed 3 months (90) days of hire or job transfer. </li><li>All required credentials to be maintained throughout employment. </li><li>Must be capable and willing to cover administrative front office staff depending on the department's needs: scheduling appointments, answering telephones, signing in and discharging patients, copying and faxing </li><li>Knowledge of computer systems: Microsoft Office, IDX, Allscripts a plus. </li><li>This position is located within a busy outpatient ambulatory care clinic setting.
