<p>TEACHER: PRE-K</p> <p>JOB STATUS: OPEN</p> <p>POSTING NUMBER: 00065153</p> <p>SCHOOL YEAR: 2025-2026</p> <p>CALENDAR: Traditional</p> <p>POSTING NUMBER: 00065153</p> <p>LOCATION: 225:BARCELONA ES</p> <p>POSITION TITLE: TEACHER: PRE-K</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION:</p> <p>Adheres to NM PreK Program Standards to provide a high quality PreK learning experience for four-year-olds and family engagement activities.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <p>Incumbent must achieve the following outcomes with or without reasonable accommodation:</p> <ul> <li>Develops and regularly modifies classroom learning environment to meet the developmental needs of young children for engaged learning opportunities. </li><li>Creates and implements an integrated curriculum that addresses the learning needs of four-year-old children across all developmental domains (Social/Emotional, Language, Motor, Cognition). </li><li>Implements state required documents and processes for home visits, student portfolio assessment documentation and data reporting, lesson plans, and family-teacher conference summary sheet. </li><li>Conducts developmental screening on all PreK children and provides parent education on the developmental milestones of young children. </li><li>Plans and implements activities with parents to strengthen their role in their child's education. </li><li>Establishes communication with early chilhood community-based programs, other early childhood district-based programs and with kindergarten teachers. </li><li>Exhibits strong organizational skills in keeping student data and anecdotal records on students' learning progress. </li><li>Participates in mandatory NM PreK professional development opportunities and District early childhood professional development events. </li><li>Articulates the NM PreK program philosophies, procedures and early learning outcomes as necessary. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>Preferences:</p> <ul> <li>Early Childhood license </li><li>Reading, Bilingual endorsements </li><li>Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. </li><li>Flexibility, organization, decision-making and problem solving skills. </li><li>Interpersonal skills with diverse populations in-person and on the telephone. </li><li>Knowledge of APS community, computer system, financial and legal requirements. </li><li>Ability to meet deadlines, work on multiple projects and coordinate the work of others. </li><li>Ability to speak, read and write a language other than English, preferably Spanish. </li><li>Knowledge of district policies on immunization, medication, first aid, emergencies and child abuse/neglect. </li><li>Five years of teaching experience preferred in early childhood education and working with parents. </li></ul> <p>REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field </li><li>Valid NM Teacher's license appropriate to teaching assignment </li><li>250 Birth - 3rd Grade </li><li>251 Birth - PreK </li><li>252 PreK - 3rd Grade </li></ul> <p>CONTACT INFORMATION:</p> <p>Contact: Rae Dooley at 505-877-0400 / rae.dooley@aps.edu</p> <p>APPLY TO:</p> <p>APPLY ONLINE: WWW.APS.EDU, APS Jobs, Certified Application.</p> <p>In addition to providing supporting documents to meet the position requirements, you must also submit an updated cover letter & resume.</p> <p>ADDITIONAL INFO:</p> <p>SALARY: Schedule A</p> <p>DAYS: 190</p> <p>HOURS:</p> <p>START DATE: 2025-2026 school year</p>
