This branch supports fiscal and strategic functions for DAF, to meet and exceed its goals and objectives by leveraging efficient and analytic use of CDOT's technologies and systems and through implementing best business practices, standard functionality and utilization of report tool sets.</p> <p>About the Position</p> <p>This position is responsible for providing analysis and technical support pertaining to the SAP Payroll module within our SAP ERP system, and other related modules as needed. This position provides information, technical skills, and knowledge on SAP functionality, and testing and configuration that is critical to the success of Payroll and Reporting. The position applies knowledge of general principles of payroll best practices and processes to analyze, develop, and implement policies, processes, and models as part of the SAP related modules and systems used to meet CDOT's mission-critical goals. </p> <p>This position will also assist the Business reporting and analysis supervisor by coordinating with interns, consultants, and CDOT staff to quickly and efficiently deploy many ad-hoc requests and issuing guidance to managers and management on information needs within DAF through reports and data analysis.</p> <p>Your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:</p> <ul> <li>Provide leadership in the design and configuration of new system requirements, especially as related to SAP Payroll module. Make key decisions related to SAP Payroll functionality and upgrades. </li><li>Counsel and advise users on proper way to utilize Payroll functionality to arrive at solutions and designs that adhere to principles of accounting and State/CDOT regulations of Payroll. </li><li>Work with all ERP teams and other outside resources to arrive at solutions and designs that adhere to principles of integration, standardization and simplification for computer programming. </li><li>Act as the primary liaison between the business owners and the OIT ERP team to complete Reporting and Operational Process Development Projects and other corrective and enhancement objects within SAP. </li><li>Work with business owners to determine and prioritize the initiatives list to to be implemented in SAP; create Initiative Business Cases that detail initiative goals, issues, requirements, affect of changes on other modules, risks, and obstacles. </li><li>Responsible for the development and execution of the unit, integration, and regression testing plans including SAP and all DAF requirements; complete testing in various different testing landscapes such as sandbox, development, and quality systems; and design the needed test scripts with screen shot and step by step instructions so end users and others can execute based on requirements and system functionality. </li><li>Troubleshoot and problem solve inquiries for Accounting and Payroll offices within all SAP environments (SBX, DEV,QAS, PRD) and provide feedback and explanation. </li><li>Collaborate with different work groups and individuals across CDOT to identify and collect complicated data sets for analysis to address ad-hoc requests and/or operational issues. </li><li>Interpret data to determine what results are significant and develop a practical course of action for others to interpret results to help them answer complicated business intelligence questions related to finance, budget, or other areas. </li><li>With working level knowledge of software such as MS Power BI, Access, Excel, MS Office, and others, support the implementation of tools, processes, procedures and reports to extract, analyze and summarize data in CDOT systems. </li><li>Create multifaceted reports and analysis using SAP, Power BI, or other systems, platforms, or tools to capture relevant data in understandable and usable formats. </li><li>Conduct complex financial and budgetary analysis and provide recommendations to management on changes to the tools and systems used to develop the various work products of the Financial Planning and Budgeting Section. </li><li>Other job duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment:</p> <ul> <li>Your schedule will primarily be 8:00 am - 5:00 pm work hours, Monday-Friday, but we are flexible to meet your work/life balance needs while ensuring CDOT business needs are met. </li><li>You will likely work a hybrid schedule with a combination of in-office and remote work. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Experience Only:</p> <ul> <li> <p>At least seven (7) years of business, analysis, accounting, finance, data management, or information technology experience.</p> </li><li> <p>At least three (3) years of this experience must include the following:</p> </li><li> <p>Analyzing business data for use in management decision-making,</p> </li><li> <p>Providing technical support for financial/business processes or systems,</p> </li><li> <p>And/or conducting accounting or payroll processes in SAP.</p> </li><li> <p>The three (3) years of specific experience must include using or supporting financial, accounting, or payroll modules with SAP or another ERP system.</p> </li></ul> <p>OR</p> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>A combination of relevant education and experience equal to at least seven (7) years. </li><li>Education from an accredited college or university with coursework in business administration, data management, economics, accounting, finance, information technology, computer science, public administration, or another field of study related to the duties of this position will be considered. </li><li>Experience that includes using or supporting financial, accounting, or payroll modules with SAP or another ERP system and includes the following will be considered: </li><li>Analyzing business data for use in management decision-making, </li><li>Providing technical support for financial/business processes or systems, </li><li>And/or conducting accounting or payroll processes in SAP. </li></ul> <p>Please Note: The required experience must be substantiated within the work experience section of your application.
