Non-acute care is offered through various affiliates,</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population in the Emergency Department. He/she assures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the department's standards of care and the Standards of Emergency Nursing Practice. He/she demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the unit and the organization; remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice; and treats staff, physicians, patients and families with consideration and respect.</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program.</p> <p>Licensure/Registration/Certification:</p> <p>Current license as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.</p> <p>BLS upon hire</p> <p>ACLS within 1 year of hire or transfer</p> <p>PALS within 2 years of hire or transfer</p> <p>NALS/NRP recommended and desired.</p> <p>TNCC recommended.</p> <p>CEN certification desired.</p> <p>Work Experience:</p> <p>1 year medical/surgical nursing experience required.</p> <p>Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age/type of patient population served.</p> <p>Must meet clinical competency standards specific to Emergency Department patients.</p> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <p>Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity</p> <p>Occupational: Significant occupational risk</p> <p>Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort.
