<p>Business Office Secretary - Full-time JobID: 536</p> <p>Position Type:</p> <p>Secretarial/Clerical/Secretary - 12-Months</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>6/5/2026</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Samuel Mickle School</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Title: BUSINESS OFFICE SECRETARY</p> <p>Salary Range: $47,000 - $57,000 based on experience</p> <p>Benefits: Coverage Medical/Prescription/Dental</p> <p>Compensation Program: Public Employees Retirement System</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>High School or Technical School diploma required </li><li>Associates or Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university preferred </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, skills and abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to describe problems and work orally or in writing to supervisor as needed </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work </li><li>Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form </li><li>Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide and perform arithmetic computations </li><li>Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) </li><li>Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals </li><li>Ability to process paperwork accurately according to standardized procedures </li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others, financial information, collective bargaining information, etc. </li><li>Organizational, scheduling and time management skills </li><li>Knowledge of office management procedures </li><li>Must pass criminal background check and fingerprints, pre-employment drug screening and TB test </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Prior secretarial experience preferred </li></ul> <p>Reports To: School Business Administrator/Board Secretary</p> <p>Primary Function:</p> <p>To assure the efficient and effective operation of the Board of Education Office for maximum positive impact on the educational function of the district.</p> <p>Performance Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Complete the employment process of new staff members, together with the monitoring of required documents; i.e. employment forms, background check, drug screening, health examinations, etc. while complying with changes to state and federal requirements. </li><li>Generate or amend staff member contracts. </li><li>Maintain personnel files. </li><li>Create Board Meeting agendas and handle resulting correspondence. </li><li>Prepare and distribute all legal notices and bids. </li><li>Create and process purchase orders, maintain accurate vendor records. </li><li>Coordinate all reservations and accommodations for workshops and conferences for all staff and Board members. </li><li>Provide administrative support, which may include answering phones, maintaining various office files, initiating and drafting correspondence and other related duties. </li><li>Receive employee and student accident reports and send out any necessary paperwork. </li><li>Maintain all shared services contracts and record payables and receivables. </li><li>Maintain preschool payments and correspondence and summer enrichment program. </li><li>Maintain databases for district's online safety training and purchasing co-op. </li><li>Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all work related matters. </li><li>Perform any other tasks or duties assigned by the Superintendent or Business Administrator/Board Secretary. </li></ul> <p>Additional Duties: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Child Study Team Supervisor and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.</p> <p>Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities.
