<p>As a Lead Validation Engineer focusing on manufacturing reliability of Tesla Energy & Charging products, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability designed into Teslas industrial and residential products is maintained throughout product manufacturing.This role follows the reliability lifecycle of the product from concept to design, developmenttesting/analysis, manufacturing, and field operation to design-in, confirm, and grow exceptional reliability at every stage. You will partner with global reliability test partners to streamline environmental stress screening and ongoing reliability testing programs across Energy & Charging products.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Communicate and streamline reliability program requirements for environmental stress screening and ongoing reliability testing globally</p> </li><li> <p>Determinecomponent/system level test solutions thatoptimize productreliability anddurability, FMEA-based risk mitigations, test team resources, and programschedules</p> </li><li> <p>Work closely with Reliability, Design, and Manufacturing teams to validate manufacturing reliability results and action plans suggesting design and/or process improvements to address reliabilityand durabilityissues based on understanding of failure root causes</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate reliability validation plans for components and subsystems providing guidance on sample size requirements and durations for reliability testing</p> </li><li> <p>Drive reliability assessments in program reviews and clearly communicate risk at products lifecycle</p> </li><li> <p>Influence supplier selection for higher reliability and provide clear guidance on reliability requirements and demonstration to suppliers</p> </li><li> <p>Provide reliability design guidelines and apply reliability lessons learned to enable continuousimprovement.Answer complex questions onglobal product manufacturing reliability performance across Energy & Charging products</p> </li><li> <p>Strong communication skills and experience leading cross functional teams</p> </li><li> <p>Solid Mechanical or Electrical Engineering fundamentals</p> </li><li> <p>3-10years of hands-on experience in hardware design, design validation, hardware testing, mechanical system reliability testing, and durability testing</p> </li><li> <p>Understanding of accelerated testing methods, governing equations, and physics of failure for different failure mechanisms</p> </li><li> <p>Working knowledge of failure analysis techniques such as optical microscopy, SEM, CSAM, X-ray, cross-sectioning and EDX</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of programming in scripting languages for test automation and data analysis/post-processing</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of manufacturing engineering fundamentals</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of reliability warranty analysis and reliability prediction methods</p> </li><li> <p>Experience working with complex electronic and mechanical systems</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field and five or more years of industry experience in a reliability engineering role</p> </li></ul>
