<p>Position Details</p> <p>Position Information</p> <p>Position Title Assistant/Associate/Professor of Pathology, DCOM Department DCOM BASIC SCIENCES Position Category Faculty Job Description</p> <p>The Assistant/Associate Professor of Pathology for the DCOM shall have the primary responsibility for teaching general pathology, systemic pathology and histology in accordance with LMU-DCOM approved curriculum and for scholarly activity. They shall be held accountable for these obligations as they contribute to the attainment of the mission of the University, the School, and the Department.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>MD or DO, must be board certified in Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology, able to be licensed in Tennessee within the first-year of hire date by the Tennessee Board of Osteopathic Examination/Tennessee Medical State Board; unrestricted Tennessee license; or a PhD in pathology with experience teaching histology and systemic pathology.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands Campus Harrogate</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Promote implementation of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) standards in all relevant academic programs;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Promote implementation of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) standards in all relevant academic programs;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Promote implementation of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA);</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Adhere to the Faculty-Staff Policy Manual;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Conduct departmental meetings with established agenda with copies of minutes submitted to the designated shared site on MYLMU;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Prepare annual departmental updates for changes to the LMU-DCOM Catalog;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Coordinate and manage the concerns of the department faculty on a daily basis to resolve, or move forward to appropriate level for resolution;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Follow-up with faculty as needed regarding concerns;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Coordinate curriculum change proposals for approval at the department, curriculum, division dean levels, and recommendation to the LMU-DCOM Curriculum Committee;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Prepare reports to the Academic Council as requested by the curriculum committee;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Monitor implementation and evaluation of the department s Strategic Plan and prepare an annual report;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Oversee and manage the resources needed for departmental responsible courses;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Conduct orientation conferences for new full-time and adjunct faculty;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Monitor and support the transitions and progress of new and current faculty in the areas of academic preparedness, objective writing, lecture delivery, examination preparation, technology training, etc.;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Seek, arrange, and interview for open faculty/staff positions for the department;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Coordinate the process for annual evaluations for departmental faculty by assisting with completion of Faculty Evaluation Report and staff evaluations;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Prepare course content schedules;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Monitor syllabi format and collecting all syllabi from department faculty;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Monitor student advising by faculty and adherence to policies and procedures;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Prepare an annual budget proposal with the appropriate division dean;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Maintain compliance with University and school policies for budget management for all departmental faculty and staff members;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Develop and coordinate programs and resources to assist and promote faculty growth, development, and accomplishments in the fields of education, research, and professional service;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Serve as a consultant committed to monitoring, evaluating, developing, and implementing educational, administrative, and research programs to meet established faculty and departmental requirements</p> <p>Posting Detail Information</p> <p>Posting Number F01286P Job Open Date 05/06/2025 Job Close Date 08/31/2025 Open Until Filled No Special Instructions Summary About the Institution</p> <p>Lincoln Memorial University is a values-based learning community dedicated to providing educational experiences in the liberal arts and professional studies.
