<p>Summary of Duties & Responsibilities</p> <p>IT Systems Engineer I is an entry-level position that operates using established procedures and works under immediate supervision. IT Systems Engineer I assists other engineers in maintaining the corporate local area network (LAN) environment and providing end user technical support for desktops, applications, servers and general LAN problems. Additional emphasis is placed on technical training, understanding customer service in a corporate environment and general BST Global processes.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide first-level support for end user issues related to the enterprise desktop and network environment</p> </li><li> <p>Use established procedures to:</p> </li><li> <p>install, test, and configure desktop and server operating system environments and data and voice network infrastructure (network specialty only)</p> </li><li> <p>maintain and track software and hardware asset information for the organization</p> </li><li> <p>maintain peripherals, e.g., printers and video display equipment connected to the network</p> </li><li> <p>Develop end user FAQ-style documentation for general IT support and questions</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in assigning, managing, and deleting user accounts, groups and systems in a Microsoft Windows Active Directory environment</p> </li><li> <p>Perform additional related duties as assigned</p> </li></ul> <p>Skills & Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems, including Windows 10 </li><li>Hands-on experience supporting and troubleshooting Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint </li><li>Experience troubleshooting and repairing Intel-based desktop and server hardware (PC support) </li><li>Understanding of network utilities and services, such as DNS, DHCP, TCPIP, TELNET, RDP and WINS </li><li>Understanding of remote access technologies, such as VPN, SSL, and Remote Desktop and its authentication techniques </li><li>Customer service oriented, good communication skills, considerate, cooperative and the ability to interact with a wide variety of personalities at all corporate levels </li></ul> <p>Team Support/ Leadership</p> <ul> <li>Deep commitment to working in and fostering a highly collaborative, innovative and high-performing product team </li><li>Promote, support and embody BST Global's company mission, strategy and values </li><li>Foster a culture of ownership and pride in delivering the highest levels of quality and excellence </li></ul> <p>Education or Prior Experience</p> <ul> <li>Associate of Science degree in computer science or another technology-related field; Bachelor's degree preferred </li><li>1-3 years of industry or academic experience supporting Microsoft Windows-based infrastructure, including PCs, servers, and network-related peripherals </li></ul> <p>Specialized Licenses or Certifications</p> <ul> <li>Microsoft Windows Server or Windows Desktop Product certifications (MCP) preferred </li><li>CompTIA Network+ certification or Cisco CCENT certifications (network specialty only) preferred </li></ul> <p>Reports To</p> <p>The Director of Infrastructure and Cloud Services</p> <p>Number Supervised</p> <p>0</p> <p>Travel</p> <p>None</p> <p>Classification</p> <p>Exempt</p> <p>Work Environment & Physical Demands</p> <p>This job operates in a professional office environment with standard office equipment.
