<p>Classification</p> <p>Regular</p> <p>Minimum Pay</p> <p>$21.96</p> <p>Compensation will be commensurate with the level of the position, education, and experience.</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY</p> <p>The Custodial Supervisor position is responsible for ensuring that the custodial services provided create an environment that is clean, safe, and conducive for students, staff, faculty and the community for learning at Metropolitan Community College.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Supervises, assigns and coordinates the work schedules of custodial personnel. </li><li>Coordinates contract services as necessary. </li><li>Assumes a leadership role in the absence of the Buildings and Grounds Manager. </li><li>Develops, maintains, and oversees a comprehensive maintenance schedule. </li><li>Inspects environments and performs custodial service as required. </li><li>Monitors and restocks supplies. </li><li>Assists in snow removal and ground maintenance duties. </li><li>Monitors gauges and thermostats for boilers, air conditioners and cooling towers. </li><li>Insures proper cleaning and storage of tools and equipment. </li><li>This position is designated essential and may be called in for emergency situations, to include, but not limited to snow removal, structural failures, and natural disasters </li><li>Consistently and dependably attends work, activities, and functions as scheduled or assigned. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of chemical and equipment safety. </li><li>Skill in supervising and training staff. </li><li>Skill in operation of standard cleaning equipment, such as buffers, wet/dry vacuums, steam cleaners. etc. </li><li>Manual dexterity and motor coordination skills to perform cleaning duties. </li><li>Ability to lift/exert 100 lbs. </li><li>Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, push, pull reach, and walk to complete assigned tasks. </li><li>Ability to drive. </li><li>Ability to use hand and power tools. </li><li>Ability to work independently. </li><li>Ability to read documents and written instructions. </li><li>Ability to communicate verbally, written form, voice, e-mail etc. </li><li>Knowledge of basic computer skills. </li><li>Knowledge of proficient writing skills. </li><li>Ability to effectively work and interact with various cultures and ethnicities. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma (or GED) or equivalent work experience. </li><li>Five (5) years of Custodial work experience; at least one (1) of the five (5) years at the supervisory level. </li><li>This position is categorized as "designated", as it pertains to temporary College closures or adverse conditions. </li><li>Valid driver's license and insurability by college carrier to drive college vehicles. </li><li>Must pass a background check. </li></ul> <p>The specific statements shown in each section of this description are not intended to be all inclusive.
