<p>General Description:</p> <p>The Security and Workplace Safety Training Supervisor supports customer service and serves as a liaison between front operations, facilities, and security teams to address patient access, appointment navigation, and emerging challenges across multiple sites. This role helps assess location-specific patient navigation needs and identifies organizational safety priorities to support planning and service improvements. The position is responsible for implementing workforce training programs focused on workplace safety, including de-escalation, situational awareness, and self-defense, while promoting collaboration across teams to enhance patient access and cohesive workflows. Additionally, the Supervisor supports public safety efforts by assisting with emergency response coordination, safety protocol development, and collaboration with internal and external partners, while contributing to disaster preparedness and crisis management initiatives.</p> <p>Reports to: Chief Facilities Expansion and Sustainability Officer</p> <p>Salary/Status: Non-Exempt</p> <p>Department: Security</p> <p>Hours: 40hrs/week 8:30 am-5:00 pm</p> <p>Minimum Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent; an associate's degree is a plus </li><li>Demonstrated experience in customer service or a human services role </li><li>Certified and maintains active certification in safety de-escalation, self-awareness training, self-defense, or similar safety-focused qualifications. </li><li>Ability to exercise cultural sensitivity when providing care to patients representing diverse cultures, ethnicities, religions, sexual orientations, gender identities, socioeconomic statuses, educational backgrounds, worldviews, health beliefs, literacy levels, and languages. </li><li>Demonstrates excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with diverse patient populations, medical staff, interpreters, and community partners. </li><li>Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with proficiency in customer service software, Compliatric, or the ability to quickly learn new systems and technologies. </li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to write, record, and track patient complaints and disseminate relevant information to department managers. </li><li>Demonstrates adherence to organizational policies, regulations, and requirements for handling sensitive and confidential communication in support of patient privacy. </li></ul> <p>Essential Job Requirements</p> <p>Head of Security</p> <ul> <li>Risk Assessment and Mitigation: oversee potential safety hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks and prevent incidents. </li><li>Compliance and Enforcement: ensure adherence to applicable safety laws, regulations, and policies. </li><li>Collaborate with law enforcement, fire departments, EMS, and other agencies to improve public safety and coordinate responses to incidents. </li><li>Ensure safety concerns are reviewed at Safety Committee meetings and report to the Quality Committee. Assign a staff member to co-chair the safety committee. </li><li>Be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive security and emergency preparedness policies and procedures to maintain a secure work environment. </li><li>Manage personnel in overseeing public safety staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations. Mentor Public Safety Officers and provide support as they carry out their roles. </li><li>Uphold high ethical standards and professionalism, serving as a role model for all security officers. </li><li>Responsible for managing and investigating reported operational incidents. Ensures that Public Safety personnel report incidents correctly. </li><li>Performs surveillance investigations as requested by the Department of Human Resources, executive leadership, and law enforcement, as needed. </li><li>Supervises designated lead officers to ensure that all officers follow their assigned post orders and are properly scheduled. </li><li>Works with the Director of Facilities and Maintenance staff to maintain a safe work environment. </li><li>Assists in planning and requesting the department budget. Manages department operations and plans expenditures. Advises and recommends on related expenses. </li><li>Communicates all emergencies to the Chief Facilities Expansion and Sustainability Officer. Helps establish incident command in partnership with the Chief Executive Officer or designee. </li></ul> <p>Workplace Safety</p> <ul> <li>Foster ongoing positive relationships with staff and patients, and participate in interdisciplinary meetings to identify strengths and areas for improvement within the security team. </li><li>Be accountable for delivering and training others on excellent customer service and training others, and show attention to detail. </li><li>Collaborate as a key member of the customer service team within the front operations department, including the facilities, security, and compliance teams. </li><li>Reminds all team members to share with the Facilities team whenever health center spaces need attention to ensure safe and positive customer navigation and access. </li><li>Engage relevant teams to collaboratively address customer complaints and facilitate de-escalation during challenging interactions. </li><li>Rotate among health center sites as needed to support customer navigation, maintaining a tailored schedule responsive to site requirements. </li><li>Collaborate with workforce training leadership in Human Resources, the Office for Access & Equity, and security and facilities to provide routinely requested and/or mandatory staff training in workforce safety as assigned by the organization (requires demonstrated certification; priority areas of interest include: de-escalation, safety, and self-awareness and self-defense) </li><li>Provide opportunities for a train-the-trainer model as it relates to training around safety. </li><li>Update the organization of other workforce safety training opportunities available through stakeholder partnerships and/or in the community. </li><li>Maintains active certification in all areas of workplace safety training being offered to staff </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Stand or walk constantly (for up to entire shift) on various surfaces (tile, concrete, carpet. </li><li>Work in various environments including adverse outdoor conditions such as cold, rain or heat. </li><li>Must be able to handle pressure of working with high volume general public. </li><li>Constant use of eyes to observe, read, interact with public and co-workers. </li><li>Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and writing on a computer. </li><li>Requirements include lifting and carrying objects weighing 25-50 pounds on average. </li><li>Frequent standing and walking </li></ul> <p>This position requires compliance with Caring Health Center's compliance standards, including its Standards of Conduct, Compliance Program, and policies and procedures. Such compliance will be an element considered as part of the regular performance evaluation.</p> <p>Salary Range $34.62 to $40.86 per hour</p>
