<p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The city has an active Economic Development Department with the mission of recruiting new businesses and retention and expansion of existing businesses. The city is looking for candidates interested in gaining experience in marketing and business development in economic development in a municipal government setting.</p> <p>Typical Job Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Assist in data and graphics collection for economic development. </li><li>Customer Relationship Management (CRM) </li><li>Develop target industry and marketing materials, which include email and social </li></ul> <p>media campaigns, PowerPoint Presentations and Fact Books</p> <ul> <li>Attend selected economic development meetings and events. </li><li>Assist with deal structuring and business retention and expansion program. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Willingness to learn.</p> </li><li> <p>Reliable transportation</p> </li><li> <p>Interpersonal skills - via face to face or telephone</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient in Computers, i.e.</p> </li><li> <p>Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Learn HubSpot CRM, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva.</p> </li><li> <p>Professional in appearance</p> </li><li> <p>Flexible, punctual, reliable, and teachable</p> </li><li> <p>Project task completion-oriented</p> </li><li> <p>Interest in economic development</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of Website Design in HTML/CSS Coding</p> </li><li> <p>Understanding of basic Design Principles</p> </li><li> <p>Preferred to have knowledge of Google Analytics</p> </li></ul> <p>Students will Gain</p> <ul> <li>Real-time instruction, small group and independent workflows and constructive </li></ul> <p>evaluation of accomplishments</p> <ul> <li>Experience contributing as a member of a small team that is part of a larger, diverse </li></ul> <p>organization</p> <ul> <li>Best practices and knowledge acquired during specific tasks which are applicable to a </li></ul> <p>business recruitment and business retention and expansion</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>This internship is ideal for students wanting "hands-on" experience in the basics of economic development, marketing, with an emphasis on municipal government. Almost all work is completed at Granbury City Hall or nearby. High level of Data usage required.</p> <p>Special Requirements</p> <p>Average of 15 to 20 hours a week. Flexible weekdays between 8:30am and 5:00pm.
