Medical Technologists prepare samples for testing and are trained to operate and troubleshoot all laboratory equipment.</p> <p>Key Accountabilities:</p> <ul> <li>Use established lab protocols to perform laboratory tests on all Laboratory equipment. </li><li>Determines specimen validity. </li><li>Identify, diagnose and repair issues that may arise with the laboratory equipment. </li><li>Verify all test results and ensure that they are correctly matched with the specimen. </li><li>Correctly releases results of those tests once lab established criteria for quality control is met. </li><li>Accurately performs and interprets numerous complicated tests simultaneously. </li><li>Labels and organize all specimens appropriately to make sure that they are easily retrievable </li><li>Reviews all quality control before releasing patient results to assure accurate patient testing. </li><li>Establishes and monitors programs to ensure data accuracy. </li><li>Works effectively as a team member within the department and with other units to provide quality service through communication, cooperation, and collaboration. </li><li>Adheres to and enforces departmental operating policies and procedures to include all programs, quality control, quality assurance, CLIA regulations, and safety. </li><li>Follows all laboratory policies and procedures. </li><li>Attends required staff meetings. </li><li>Maintains strict patient confidentiality. </li><li>Adheres to OSHA regulations. </li><li>Performs other duties as requested. </li></ul> <p>Reports to:</p> <ul> <li>Laboratory Lead, supervisor or manager. </li><li>Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with patients, co-workers and physicians. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor or Associate degree in medical technology or related scientific field. </li><li>ASCP certification preferred or equivalent. </li><li>1-3 years of full-time experience as a generalist in a clinical laboratory preferred. </li><li>Good computer and math skills. </li><li>Experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) in a clinical laboratory environment is desired. </li><li>Ability to work effectively and professionally under pressure. </li><li>Ability to work in a team and to share responsibilities and duties. </li><li>Ability to resolve interpersonal conflicts in a straightforward and timely manner. </li><li>Ability to set priorities, be organized and be a self-starter. </li><li>Ability to be friendly, empathic and an adept communicator. </li><li>Ability to treat both staff and patients with respect. </li><li>Experience with Labdaq-LIS system is a plus. </li><li>Excellent patience, communication and organizational skills required. </li><li>The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and the ability to multitask is a must. </li></ul> <p>About Our Commitment</p> <p>Total Rewards at VillageMD</p> <p>Our team members are essential to our mission to reshape healthcare through the power of connection.
