Our values - care, courage and curiosity - guide how we work and how we treat each other.</p> <p>About the role</p> <p>We are looking for a Supervisor - Mobile Maintenance to lead a team responsible for maintaining and repairing critical mining equipment, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations.</p> <p>Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, on a 5x5x4 rotating shift roster (days and nights) and working collaboratively with operational and functional teams, you will be responsible for:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Leading, coaching, and managing a team of maintenance tradespeople and embedded contractors (typically 18-21 personnel)</p> </li><li> <p>Promoting and enforcing a strong safety culture aligned to MSHA standards and Rio Tinto's Zero Harm commitment</p> </li><li> <p>Leading incident investigations and ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented</p> </li><li> <p>Ensuring compliance with site safety systems, permits, and risk assessments</p> </li><li> <p>Supervising and coordinating preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on heavy mobile mining equipment including haul trucks, dozers, excavators, loaders, graders, and drills</p> </li><li> <p>Making real-time decisions to support safe and efficient production outcomes, including exercising stop-work authority when required</p> </li><li> <p>Allocating resources and sequencing work based on operational priorities, equipment availability, and workforce capability</p> </li><li> <p>Ensuring high-quality execution of maintenance activities, minimizing downtime and improving asset reliability</p> </li><li> <p>Working closely with planning and operations teams to align maintenance activities with production requirements</p> </li><li> <p>Identifying, investigating, and resolving equipment and operational issues to improve performance outcomes</p> </li><li> <p>Maintaining accurate records in maintenance systems, including SAP, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitating effective shift handovers and team communication using tools such as Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Excel</p> </li></ul> <p>About you</p> <ul> <li> <p>A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience within a mining or heavy industrial maintenance environment</p> </li><li> <p>Strong experience maintaining heavy mobile equipment, including hydraulic and mechanical systems</p> </li><li> <p>Proven ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and respond effectively during breakdowns and shutdowns</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and asset management practices</p> </li><li> <p>Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across maintenance and operations teams</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to build an inclusive, respectful, and high-performing team culture</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum high school diploma or GED; trade qualification preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Valid driver's license</p> </li><li> <p>Preferred: experience with OEM equipment such as Caterpillar and/or Komatsu</p> </li></ul> <p>This role is open to candidates who are legally authorized to work in the United States. We produce copper, precious metals including gold and silver, molybdenum, and sulfuric acid.
