<p>As a Business Development Representative / Sales Representative, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities for environmental consulting and testing services. This role focuses on building client relationships, understanding project needs, and driving revenue growth across environmental and compliance-driven services.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Identify and pursue new business opportunities within construction, real estate, facilities, and environmental markets. </li><li>Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, including owners, contractors, developers, property managers, and EHS professionals. </li><li>Conduct discovery conversations to understand client needs, project scopes, and regulatory requirements. </li><li>Promote environmental consulting and testing services including asbestos, lead, mold, indoor air quality, industrial hygiene, and related compliance services. </li><li>Coordinate proposals, pricing, and scopes of work in collaboration with technical and operations teams. </li><li>Track and manage sales activities, leads, and opportunities to maintain a consistent pipeline. </li><li>Attend client meetings, site visits, and industry events throughout the NYC metro area. </li><li>Support contract negotiations and ensure smooth handoff of awarded projects to internal teams. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>2+ years of business development or sales experience, preferably within environmental services, construction, engineering, or related industries. </li><li>Proven ability to prospect, build relationships, and close new business. </li><li>Strong understanding of consultative selling and solution-based sales. </li><li>Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities simultaneously. </li><li>Comfortable working independently in a client-facing role. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Existing relationships within the NYC construction, real estate, or environmental market (preferred). </li><li>Experience selling professional services or compliance-driven solutions. </li><li>Familiarity with environmental regulations, permitting, or testing services (a plus). </li><li>Proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Office. </li><li>Willingness to travel locally for client meetings and site visits. </li></ul> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Permanent position based out of Jersey City, NJ.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $130000.00/yr.</p> <p>Full benefits package; include medical, vision, dental and PTO</p> <p>Workplace Type</p> <p>This is a fully onsite position in Jersey City,NJ.</p> <p>Application Deadline</p> <p>This position is anticipated to close on Mar 20, 2026.</p> <p>About Actalent</p> <p>Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
